Dear St. George Families,

As the end of the school year approaches, my youngest daughter will be graduating from SJA this year and will be off to college in the fall. I am sure that many of our St. George family will have children entering new stages of life in the coming months. I remember...

Someday when the kids are grown, things will be a lot different. The garage will not be full of bikes, unfinished projects, and pet cages. I will not stumble over skateboards or pet food.

Someday when the kids are grown, the kitchen will be neat and clean, the sink won't be full of sticky dishes, the garbage disposal won't be choked with rubber bands or paper cups. The blender won't be sitting out the next day following a late night milkshake.

Someday when the kids are grown, my wife will have time to do her quilting without having to answer dozens of homework questions or reviewing spelling words.

Someday when the kids are grown, I will be able to use the computer.

Someday when the kids are grown, I will be able to see through the car windows. Fingerprints, tongue licks and sneaker footprints won't block my view. The back seat won't be a disaster area and the gas tank won't always be empty.

Someday when the kids are grown, we will be able to have a great conversation. "Yuck" and "gross" won't be a part of every sentence. "Hurry up, I gotta go" will not be followed by fists banging on the bathroom door.

Yes, someday when the kids are grown, things are going to be a lot different. One by one they will leave, and the place will begin to have a sense of order. The place will be silent; the computer will gather dust. The house will be calm, quiet, and clean - and we will spend our time not looking forward to 'Someday' but looking back to 'Yesterday'. We'll be thinking, "Maybe we can baby sit the grandkids and get some life back into this place again."

Enjoy today! Appreciate the blessing your children bring to you everyday. Thank God for that blessing and help make God an important part of their life.

May God bless you and your family.

Jack Nelson

TARDINESS
St. George School Tardy Policy has been developed to emphasize the importance of each student being in the classroom for the entire day, as well as arriving on time to school every day. Learning the responsibility of getting to class on time is an integral part of St. George School's standard of excellence, which prepares students for success.
Instructional time is viewed as a precious resource. We view tardiness as a problem.

Thank you for your support in ensuring students make maximum use of class time and learn to be punctual. School begins at 7:45 a.m. Beginning the day promptly is important and demonstrates commitment to success.
