2018 ends on a magical note with a green light for the gardens and a light dusting of snow!
The new year brings with it great anticipation of fresh programs, acclaimed speakers and Friday night music jams but most of all, the long-awaited approval to take our dreams from the drawing boards and put shovels in the ground for the rehabilitation of the Historic Jay Gardens! In 2019 the installation of accessible paths, parterre classrooms and vegetable beds, irrigation, lighting, a reflecting pool, pollinator beds, rose trellis and more - will finally begin. Plans were approved by NY State Parks Office of Historic Preservation just last month; renderings are below.

Many, many people have made the revival of the 23 acre Jay Estate possible through thousands of hours of hard work, patient advocacy and critical dollars over the years. But we still need your help to ensure the momentum continues! Monies will help us hire educators and maintenance crew for the completed gardens. Our 2019 Wish List includes additional funding for
  • an outdoor garden pavilion to provide shade for school groups,
  • a companion orchard of cherry trees and
  • over a dozen native American elms.

Won't you please consider making a gift today? All donations are 100% tax deductible.

With immense thanks and best wishes for a Happy New Year from the entire Board and Staff of the Jay Heritage Center!
