A VERY UNIQUE NZ FLY BRAND IN A BIG WORLD!

A big hello to you all.
We have had a few mayfly hatches this month.Though due to rain and high water things have not been on April fire as of yet.

I expect the high water to drop and for may fly hatches to start up again from today till the end of the season. So my last clients of the season will be happy to know.

"I can hear the flutter of brown and clear wings"

Recently NZ fly fishing school which is based here in Athol. Has now secured an indoor teaching area this year which we can use when the weather is not the best for teaching outside.

As you can see from the photo above, the guys having fun casting away under the heaters, while it snowed outside.

Soon the other new base for the school will also be finished and open which also will include an indoor area from teaching fly tying, knots and to view instructional videos for any clients attending .

BOOKINGS NOW BEING TAKEN FOR NEXT SEASON - CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING TODAY AND DON'T MISS OUT!

When the rivers have been clear and low we have been having some fun using small size 18 Hot dog nymphs in the riffles and when there has been a hatch, size 18 and 16 mayfly cripples .
When its been higher water we have been using size 12 bombs and size 18 floating King Pogo nymphs under medium sized wool indicators with the odd deadly worm every now and again.

I have to apologize to 1743 of you guys and gals that were signed up for the news letter.

Over the past 7 months you have been missed out receiving it,while everyone else has been signed up has been receiving  it.

I really do appreciate you all letting me know you had not receiving the news letter and sorry it took so long to get to the bottom of it.

Why did the bald man cut a hole in his pocket? He wanted to run his fingers through his hair.

So behind the scenes its all go as usual  and this morning I'm up again at 4am trying to get on top of my work and this news letter. I hope you enjoy it.

             HAPPY GUIDE - HAPPY CLIENTS
 Hi Stu,
may be You remember the Bomber and Archer from Germany.

I had a beautiful time in NZ and the fishing was very challenging for me. I improved and proceed my technique, also I changed my Fly line to a lighter and softer presentation. I learned how to handle these long leaders.
I used Your flies and say thanks again for the Guiding You gave to me, it was a buddy atmosphere, we joked, fooled another and had a lot of fun together.

On top I got a lot of helpful tips and hints which help me to make me and my fishing getting closer to the sensible, powerful and spooky New Zealand wild Brown trout.

...and the training got honored I was very very happy!!

I attach some pictures for You and wish You all the best hopefully one day I can return and fish NZ again It was a dream.
Best Wishes
Markus Geiselhart

G'day Stu
Just wanted to say thanks again for a awesome trip. I really learnt a lot and had a great time on the rivers with you. Best thing apart from the fish was the casting lessons. That was worth its weight in gold.

Got another 2 on Wednesday. Water was really clear and I spooked heaps, any poor casting just put them down. I wouldn't have caught any if I hadn't of spent the time with you. Thanks again and I'll see you next year
Cheers

A lady who knows the luck of the Stu's Superior flies cap pulls yet another nice big brown from the white river in the USA. The smile says it all.
Here is a great Aussie product and a company with great  customer service.

After years of replacing my seat covers ever year and keeping my guiding vehicle looking clean and sexy fro my clients.
At last I found a super hard wearing Camo seat covers made in Australia & NZ.
Black Duck seat covers  are the best I have found and even trigger likes them. They also do them it other colors.

These very durable Torpedo shrimps in the small sizes have been favorites for many returning clients heading out to Christmas Island or other areas in the world bonefishing.

DA BOMB Nymphs in the large sizes are one of the heaviest nymphs in NZ  after the Gorilla nymph. You will need a strong rod to cast them.
They get down quick and with a Stu's Glo-Bug fish egg fly tied on the strongest special Glo-Bug black nickle hook, trailing behind a Da bomb nymph. The winter Taupo rainbows are in danger, big time!

My client booked months out and had been practicing his casting in his back garden and amusing his wife and daughter as he spent most evenings landing his wool in front of his wooden fish.
When he was on the river he was struggling with spotting the trout and the shape of them.
Eventually we found out the trout he made and was casting to in his back garden was not the same shape! His was   a rare Aussie Tuna trout. We laughed! by the end of his trip he was casting at the correct brown trout shapes we spotted.
