NEWS & EVENTS
Spring Open House 

High school students and adults who are interested in pursuing a college degree or certificate are invited to attend RVCC's Spring Open House, March 28, 6-8 p.m., in the Conference Center at the College's Branchburg campus.

You'll have an opportunity to tour the campus, meet faculty and current students, and learn about:
  • how to become an RVCC student
  • student clubs, organizations and athletic teams
  • services to help traditional-age students and adults make a successful transition to college
  • degree programs designed to transfer to top colleges and universities in NJ, across the country, and even in Europe
  • career training programs, designed in partnership with local industry, that can be completed in a year or less
  • RVCC's Honors College
  • financial aid opportunities and tuition payment plans

Information Sessions, Campus Tours

Learn about all RVCC has to offer by attending an Information Session in March at the College. The College is offering General Information Sessions and special sessions for those interested in its Cosmetology and Esthetics (Skin Care) career programs. In addition, RVCC will hold Information Sessions for adult students in English and in Spanish.

Honors College

Local high school seniors interested in learning more about RVCC's Honors College are invited to attend an Information Session, March 20, 6-8 p.m. The event will be held in the RVCC Atrium (lower level, College Center).

The evening will include information about admission to the Honors College and transfer opportunities after graduating from RVCC. Students in the top 20 percent of their high school class who possess a GPA of 3.5 or higher, or have a cumulative SAT score of 1100 or higher, are encouraged to attend.

RVCC Giving Day

Members of the community are invited to participate in the third annual RVCC Giving Day on March 21. The 24-hour online event will raise funds for scholarships, educational programs and more at RVCC. To be counted as a donor, visit www.raritanval.edu/GivingDay on March 21 and make a minimum gift of $10, choosing which area you want to support. Donors also may text RVCC to 71777 to donate from their phone, using any major credit or debit card.

Workforce Career Expo, Showcase

RVCC's Workforce Training Center will present a Career Expo and Showcase, April 4, 4-6 p.m. The event, which is designed to bring together local employers, job seekers and students, is free of charge and open to the public. It will be held in the Workforce Training Center (WTC) at RVCC's Branchburg campus.

During the event, participants will be able to speak with employers; tour the WTC's facilities; and learn about the Center's Workforce degree and certificate offerings, customized training programs and other resources. The event will provide an overview of RVCC programs in such areas as Cosmetology, Esthetics, Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive Technology, Environmental Control Technology and Welding, as well as professional development courses.

Career Nights

Learn about the College's programs in Business, Engineering and Criminal Justice and employment opportunities in their respective fields at a variety of Career Nights in April. All events will be held from 6-8 p.m. in RVCC's Conference Center.

Holocaust Center Professional Development, Lecture

RVCC's Institute for Holocaust & Genocide Studies will present workshops for educators, a documentary screening and a lecture, April 1, 4-7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend a 4 p.m. book talk and book signing with Ariel Burger, author of Witness: Lessons from Elie Wiesel's Classroom. The book will be available for purchase at $26 per copy. An educators' workshop by Echoes and Reflections, "Spotlight on Contemporary Antisemitism," will follow from 5-7:30 p.m., with a documentary produced by RVCC, Challenges for the Future of Holocaust Education, screened from 5-5:30 p.m.

Student Representative on Foundation Board

Alyssa Darden of Phillipsburg has been named the Inaugural Student Representative of the RVCC Foundation Board of Directors. In her new role, Darden will have full voting authority and will bring a student perspective to the Board.

Transfer Agreement with Drexel

RVCC has signed a new transfer agreement with Drexel University that offers tuition reductions from 10-50 percent for Drexel courses offered online at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The tuition discounts will be offered to RVCC students and alumni and the College's employees. The agreement also includes professional development workshops and seminars, prepared by Drexel University faculty, that will be available to the RVCC community.
