Principal's Message

Murwood Families,

Our team is committed to improving attendance through our Every Student, Every Day campaign.  We have redesigned our Murwood Motto to include the Every Student, Every Day message.  Students took the Every Student, Every Day pledge in their classroom, and signed our banner which will hang on the Murwood fence to remind us of the importance of seeing Every Student, Every Day.

News From the Office
  • If you are the parent of a TK or K student and you arrive late, we ask that you please park and walk your child into the office to sign them in and obtain a late pass. Office staff will then walk your child to their classroom or other location.  Classes run on a tight schedule, especially on Wednesdays, and often leave their rooms soon after the morning bell and are not in the classroom when a late student arrives.  Also, the Kinder back doors and gates are locked promptly after the bell.  Please help us to ensure that students always arrive safely to their classrooms.
  • A request once again from our residential neighbors to please not block the driveway to the house right next to the school entrance or the entrance to Kayser Ct. during morning drop off and afternoon pick up.  Thank you for your cooperation.
Thank you!

Nancy Kaye
Murwood Office Manager
Returning to Murwood?

Parents, please remember to take a moment to fill out the "Returning to Murwood" form sent to you last week.  The information we obtain from it is important in helping us plan for next year.

ART TO REMEMBER FUNDRAISER FOR NEXT YEAR'S SCIENCE CAMP

The 4th graders are participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember!  Right now, our 4th graders are busy creating colorful, fun art work that will be transformed into keepsake products of YOUR choice.  Most products are
$15 or less.  33% of the profits come back to Murwood and will help with the costs associated with the Science Camp.  Be on the lookout for more information coming in the Wednesday envelopes and further communications from 4th grade parent, Dawn Greenaway.  This is a super FUNdraiser.  The kids are excited to see their art come to life in the products you choose.  Any siblings of current 4th graders are welcome to participate too.  Please contact Dawn Greenaway at  [email protected] if you'd like your younger child to participate. Thank you for your support of our soon to be 5th graders!
Science Fair
March 14, 6-7:30 PM, MW MPR

Rubber Eggs! Flying Peeps! Sailboats sailing! Penguins! Burning money! Slime! Butterfly habitats!

The Science Fair has it all! Everyone is invited to attend the Murwood Science Fair, Thursday, March 14th from 6-7:30. Science will be everywhere and our Catapult STEM participants may be seen showing off the distance the peeps can travel. The other STEM participants will be testing a sailboat or an apple container. Caterpillars MAY be climbing around the butterfly habitats! Come enjoy dinner and dessert from Rosie's food truck and explore the science fair projects. Parents, please keep your children with you as there is no adult supervision on the playground or in the MPR.
Multi-Cultural Night

Please join the Murwood PTA and the 5th Grade class on March 28th from 5:30-7 for our Multi-cultural Night Celebration.  We invite everyone to prepare a dish to share with the room, something traditional or a family favorite (please label, including your name, dish name, and ingredients).  Our diversity is what makes Murwood the beautiful, inclusive community that we are, and we'd like to take a night to celebrate together.  Students' Heritage posters will be displayed.

This is a terrific, family-fun filled, community evening. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there.

Amazon Smile

Murwood PTA received $74 from Amazon Smile for the Oct-Dec quarter.  That is free money to the school that comes from making your Amazon purchases through the  smile.amazon.com website  - it doesn't cost you any more than ordering through the regular Amazon website, and a small percentage of your purchase comes to Murwood PTA!  Remember to "smile" when ordering from Amazon.
