We have been thrilled with the response to our release of the updated HAZE documentary--hearing from schools and communities who use the film to share Gordie's lifesaving message means a lot to us and to Gordie's family. If you would like to purchase the 2018 update of HAZE, please visit our website. If you already own an older version of the film, send us an email to get the 2018 version for $50!

April is now upon us, and is a time filled with the excitement of prom and formal season, with graduation not far off. Planning ahead can make these events special, fun, and safe. Parents, check out PowertotheParent.Org's prom safety information. Students, when you're heading to prom or your formal, communicate with your date, friends, and family: look out for each other, use the buddy system when walking at night, and have a designated, sober driver ready to help get everyone home.
Gordie Center Updates
The Gordie Center is proud to partner with other leaders in hazing prevention, and wanted to highlight a few upcoming events and a new initiative for you. WITH US: The National Network for Peer Accountability was recently created at Cal Poly San Louis Obispo, and the Gordie Center is an official Prevention Partner! There are two wonderful higher education hazing prevention institutes this summer:
We encourage you to learn more about those institutes and attend if possible. We are excited to work with these and other organizations to combat hazing nationwide.
GivingToHoosDay is April 10th!

The Gordie Center is participating in the University of Virginia's 3rd annual 24-hour giving day: GivingToHoosDay. We have a $15,000 matching challenge gift from a generous donor: gifts made now through 11:59pm on the 10th will be matched 1:1 up to $15,000. Our goal is to raise $30,000 for our work to end hazing and substance misuse among high school and college students nationwide, including at our home at the University of Virginia. Please help us reach our $30,000 goal with a gift now through April 10th!

Our 2018 update of HAZE was made possible by donations through our GivingToHoosDay campaign last year--we greatly appreciate your support of our mission!

Until next month,
