This year, St. Catharine's unveiled its first ever Dance Team, coached by Janika Hawthorne. This season the team competed in two competitions placing fourth and first. The team ended the season with a Showcase Performance at Hofstra University's Men's Basketball game.

The team was proposed by junor Ashley DeLeon. Her goals included promoting spirit in the school and the community, competing in local competitions, and performing at major school events.

"I can remember being a student at St. Catharine and traveling to the city after school four days a week for my dance training when I was admitted and received a scholarship to The Alvin Ailey School as a teenager," Ms. Hawthorne concluded.
