Dear Mom,

History has a lot to teach us about what we are witnessing in our country. In the past months, we have seen self-proclaimed socialists and anarchists march in the streets destroying statues, burning our flag, and desecrating the Bible. There can be no doubt that these ideologies are a direct threat to our nation and our liberty.

One grandmother was moved to warn her children and grandchildren of just that. Having survived and escaped a Communist dictatorship in Cuba, she recognizes the dangerous and destructive forces at work under the guise of "justice" and "equality." She wrote:
Socialism is knocking at the door. It is the threshold of communism. It’s like a storm you see coming while the sun is still out. You see the sky turning dark at a distance, at the same time you think its not going to come your way. I have nothing to lose, my days are counted, I already paid the price – losing my country and my culture. I don’t want that to happen to you – I love you too much to be quiet. The signs for the approaching storm are all there. All we have to do is look out the window and “see” the sky changing. I know, I not only lived through a similar storm, I was able to run from it to safety. The problem with this one is there is no place to run to. And that is what scares me for you.
We should take this loving grandmother's warning seriously. She goes on to predict the horrific things that will happen if socialism continues to fester unchecked. While her predictions are grim, she leaves her family with the sincere hope that they will not come to pass. And they will not if people choose to act.

One of the most powerful forces on the side of Truth and liberty is the family unit. Within the family, we as mothers can teach our children gratitude and respect. We can pass on a legacy of liberty and raise the next generation to cherish the freedoms so many have laid down their lives to defend.
As the pandemic has driven many families to home school, whether by choice or by force, we have never been in a better position to teach the next generation. When you are schooling from home, whatever the reason, you are part of a network of empowered mothers taking responsibility for the instruction and moral development of their children.

If you are concerned about the direction of our nation and you find yourself teaching your children from home this year, don't go it alone. You can find resources on the Moms For America website, watch informative interviews and discussions on our social media, and connect with like-minded mothers working to heal and restore our country from their kitchen table.

Mothers are the beacon of safety in the storm. When we are prepared, the next generation is secure.
