Dear Colleagues,

I want to be sure you read the good news yesterday that the College of Engineering has scored a small but significant improvement in our U.S. News & World Report Graduate Program ranking. We are now ranked 75, tied with six other schools and up from 82 last year. These advances are reflected at both the college level and by discipline, with all CoE departments among the nation’s top 50th percentile of graduate programs. If you haven’t already, I invite you to read the details in this article .

Along with Drexel’s recent R1 research designation, our four GAANN grants last fall, and the recent CAREER awards for CoE faculty members, this is more good news for us. As we work to advance our programs and raise the college’s visibility, I expect we will continue on this upward trajectory through our collective efforts.

Related, our important strategic planning efforts continue. I refer you to my email yesterday on the subject, and encourage you once more to join one of the open focus groups with the GLP team later this week.

Sincerely,
Sharon L. Walker, PhD
Dean, College of Engineering
