Congratulations to Dee Bisel on her Recent Retirement
Dee Bisel of Minuteman Press in Lawrence, KS has officially handed the baton to her daughter Kristi and taken the plunge into official retirement.
During her career, Dee served in corporate control management with Hallmark Cards, in Kansas City until 1993 when she opened her own Minuteman Press business in Lawrence, KS. Dee worked tirelessly to take her franchise to the top of the list in success.
Dee also served on the PIA MidAmerica Board of Directors with 2 terms as a Director, 2 terms as Secretary and 2 terms as Treasurer. We are grateful for her service!

In his current position as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Colordyne Technologies, Taylor is focused on expanding Colordyne's industry relationships and sales channels. Taylor has been an integral part of Colordyne's growth since joining in 2012, previously holding the positions of Product Manager and Director of Market Development. During this time, he played a key role in the design and execution of Colordyne's 3600 Series presses, and helped produce Colordyne's current business development strategies. Prior to Colordyne, Taylor was instrumental in new product development for Barcodes West, a division of ID Label, focusing on both beta development for Colordyne and the implementation of new variable data imaging technologies. Furthermore, Taylor leverages a background in wide format graphics and signage from his tenure at Genisys Credit Union where he managed in house print production for their 25+ locations. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International Business with concentrations in Marketing, Management, and Finance from the University of Michigan.

Leslie Boyd is a principal in CLA's Manufacturing industry group and leader of the Manufacturing industry for the Indianapolis office. Leslie has more than 10 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in tax services for multi-state and multinational C-Corporations, S-corporations, and partnerships. She also has significant experience with tax provision preparation (ASC 740) and documentation of uncertain tax issues and positions (FIN 48). Leslie also has experience working with companies with tax structuring of M&A transactions.
Leslie has been a speaker on several tax technical topics, including teaching the firm's annual Tax Advisor Update; tax merger and acquisition topics; and tax credit and incentive areas.

PIA Responds To Conflicting
OSHA Interpretations
Conflicting OSHA interpretations on chemical container labels has spurred action on your behalf by PIA. We have issued a formal variance request to allow color coding for "secondary containers," such as squirt bottles.
Under OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard, labels or other forms of information are required to be placed on secondary containers, so that employees can identify the contents and understand the hazards associated with them. Many printing companies have designed a system of colored containers along with a poster identifying the chemicals and the required information for each material.
This standard system has proven to be an effective approach to meet the regulation. Even though many OSHA inspectors have approved the use of colored containers, OSHA headquarters staff has stated that colors alone are not acceptable and that the rule must be revised.
While a formal request to revise the regulation has been submitted, the only option in the interim is to request a permanent variance.
