successful Lincoln Day Dinner
Our Lincoln Day Dinner was a great success. We had nearly 400 people attend, and it was our most profitable event ever. Jim Roberts was our Master of Ceremonies, and I was proud to present him with the award for Republican Elected Official of the Year. I selected Brian Courtney as Republican of the Year for his incredible dedication to the party, volunteering to pop popcorn at the county fair for decades. In addition to our featured speaker, Rep. Jim Jordan, we were joined by Rep. Bob Latta, Ohio Supreme Court Justices Judi French and Patrick DeWine, and at least six members of the state legislature.

Justice French also spoke to high school students from North Central Academy and Tiffin Columbian, organized by Collin Paylor. She was in this front page article in the Advertiser-Tribune.

Thanks to everyone who made the dinner a success, including Jim Cline, Vanessa Treft, Mike Kerschner, Mike Bridinger, Deb Wilkinson, Justin Smith, Jill Steinbaugh, and the host committee: Karen Gillmor, Mike & Joella Kerschner, Reineke Family Dealership, Mark & Amy Akers, Cliff & Doris Hartline, Coppus Motors, Sacksteder/Worland Insurance, Paul Harrison, Brad & Kim Newman, UIS Insurance & Investments, Doug & Holly Stacy, Mike Bridinger & Ann Forrest, Rick Gillette, A.J. Felter, Mike Herbert/PT Services, and Steven C. Shuff. We appreciate it!

100th anniversary
Did you know the first six women voted to the General Assembly in Ohio were all Republicans?

2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the US constitution. Ohioans and Republican women in Ohio played a big part in the suffrage movement.

Celebrations are being planned for the anniversary, and Amy Kerschner has agreed to serve as Seneca County's representative.
lower the voting age?
The head of politics at Cambridge University in England wants to get more people to vote by lowering the voting age to 6. Not 16. SIX!

Professor David Runciman says “The old thing about voting for people like you wouldn't happen, 9-year-olds aren't going to elect 9-year-olds to Parliament and even if they did they'd be outvoted. What's the worst that could happen? At least it would be exciting, it would make elections more fun.” There's more odd quotes in this Daily Mail article.

Maybe children in Parliament could solve the Brexit problem.
Thanks for everything you do for the Seneca County Republican Party.

Sincerely,

David W. Koehl
