Springmoor visits GSLP
As part of our service to the community for the month of November, some of our friends from Springmoor visited our school. They made turkeys out of pudding cups and pipe cleaners and read some thanksgiving stories together. Our friends even joined us for music and movement with Ms. Katherine!

We look forward to going to Springmoor in December. We'd love to have some 4's and TK parents join us on Friday, December 7.
Kindergarten Information Session

TOY EX CHANGE
December 3 - 7

As part of our service to the Raleigh community, the FOP (Friends of Preschool) organizes a Toy Exchange the first week in December. Take some time to clean out your shelves or closets to make room for the new items coming at Christmas. Donate the gently used toys or clothes to our toy exchange. To participate, you need to purchase one new toy and bring it, unwrapped, with your used items. You can take/exchange as many items as you brought. We take the new toys and all left over donations to Families Together, to help less fortunate children have a great Christmas.
Thank you for shopping at our Scholastic Book Fair! Enjoy reading with your child!!
As a result of your efforts, your students received approximately 231 books which translates to about 41,620 reading minutes. That is an accomplishment to be proud of!
Chapel in December

" God's son is born for us"    Isaiah 9:6
This month in chapel, we will hear the Christmas story. The children are also learning songs in music class about the birth of Jesus. The Christmas program will reflect the nativity.
We are thankful for our chapel leaders, Mr Andrew and Pastor Marsha!
You are welcome to come to chapel any time. It's on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:45 - 10:00 am.

Thank you to the 27 people who have linked to our Harris Teeter number. So far, we have made almost $130.
Re-link your grocery card to GSLP's number every school year. Each time you shop, the preschool benefits and it adds up. We effortlessly earned over $600 from Harris Teeter last year. More than one school can be linked at a time. We thank you for linking your card. The mission of GSLP is to provide a Christ-centered early childhood preschool through faith-based education and service in a nurturing inclusive environment.
The Educational Philosophy of Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool
The focus of the preschool is to meet children’s needs and stimulate learning in these developmental areas:   *Physical    *Emotional/ Social    *Spiritual    *Cognitive        *Music/Art
To nurture these areas the Preschool’s objectives are to:
  • Integrate Christian faith formation throughout the curriculum.
  • Develop a cooperative/supportive relationship between the child, the family and the preschool.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Teach children about their relationship with God and all people in the world.
  • Provide tools for assessment of students’ progress.

Our teachers relate education to the child’s understanding about God and Christian life so that the spiritual and developmental aspects of the curriculum become a foundation for a lifelong faith.
