Surry Community College is  accepting applications for its new LPN-BSN program until May 15, which is the final admissions deadline for Fall 2018.

Applicants also need to register for the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) by May 23 at noon. The test will be given on May 24 at 9 a.m. for applicants The TEAS scheduled for May 25 is full. The LPN-BSN program at Surry is in collaboration with Lees-McRae College (LMC). The partnership between Surry and LMC was created to provide area students with an affordable and accessible opportunity to attain a baccalaureate degree in nursing on the campus of SCC. Nurses with a bachelor's degree have opportunities to pursue management positions.

Students participating are dually enrolled at SCC and LMC, taking classes on campus at Surry and also online at LMC. At the end of the second year of the LPN-BSN program, students can take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and are then eligible to work as a RN while completing their final year of nursing courses online with Lees-McRae.

Application for LPN-BSN requires a SCC General Admissions Application, a Lees-McRae College General Admissions Application, and official transcripts. Additionally, interested parties must meet or exceed the benchmark scores for placement tests including the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) and must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
