Today, August 31st, is International Overdose Awareness Day, which aims to raise awareness of overdose and remember those who have died from overdose. The Gordie Center honors Gordie through our work every day, by raising awareness of the PUBS symptoms of alcohol overdose and sharing Gordie's story nationwide. September 17th will mark 14 years since Gordie's death from hazing-related alcohol overdose. The years haven't made his loss any easier, especially for his family and friends. Read on to learn how you can remember Gordie on National GORDIEday, held annually during National Hazing Prevention Week.

The first six weeks of the academic year are also the most dangerous--please take active steps to protect yourself and those around you!
National GORDIEday is September 27th

National GORDIEday is held annually as part of National Hazing Prevention Week each September as a way to raise awareness about alcohol overdose and encourage students to intervene when a friend is in distress. We offer a National GORDIEday Planning Guide with helpful ideas for planning a GORDIEday event like showing HAZE on your campus. We also have a number of free resources to help make your events successful, and we would love to know if you are participating in National GORDIEday!  Please register to receive a GORDIEsticker for your laptop (a brand new Gordie Center product!) and a pair of green Gordie Center sunglasses. Registered institutions will receive a follow-up survey after GORDIEday, and one lucky institution that completes the survey will receive a GORDIEstore prize pack!

2018 Gordie Center Publication
Our 2018 Gordie Center publication will be arriving in mailboxes over the next few weeks...but it is already posted online! We hope you enjoy reading profiles of a few of our supporters and highlights of our work over the past year as much as we enjoyed creating it! If you want to make sure you receive a print copy, please email us with your address!
New Products in the GORDIEstore!
We have developed new products (and updated our current ones!) to help you deliver effective prevention programs. This summer, we redesigned our GORDIEposters (and added 2 new designs!) and upgraded our GORDIEkoozie to a full-color design. To raise awareness of the PUBS symptoms of alcohol overdose, we created removable adhesive laptop GORDIEstickers, as well as GORDIEbus posters, sized for 11" x 17" poster holders inside campus buses. Go to the GORDIEstore to see our updated products!
The Gordie Center's APPLE Training Institute has opened for registration for NCAA member schools! Space fills up quickly, so visit the APPLE registration page to secure your team's spot!
