Congratulations to Emily Borges '20 - Chosen to Participate in an Incredible Program in France!
On March 5, The Digging Into History: WWI Trench Restoration In Seicheprey France program announced the selection of fifteen Connecticut high school students chosen to participate in this one of a kind program -- including SJ's very own Emily Borges '20!

These students will travel to the small French village of Seicheprey, which was the site of the first German offensive against American troops. They will work side by side with fifteen French students to restore a section of the trenches once occupied by the Connecticut soldiers who fought in that battle!

Basketball Advance to Semifinals!
On March 8, Varsity Basketball played Stonington High School and won the game 69-67 in double OT! They will play again on March 12 versus New Canaan at 7pm at Fairfield Warde High School.
Cheerleading Places 3rd at the CIAC State Championship!
The team also competed at the Team of the Year competition on March 9 and will also attend the New England Regional competition being held in Worcester, MA on March 16.
Gymnastics Team Honored!
SJ Gymnasts had a terrific showing at the State Open! Schuyler Tomey '20 finished in 5th place for the vault and 6th on the floor, qualifying her for New England's Open! Lindsay Capobianco '22 also proudly represented SJ in the floor and beam events. Both girls made 1st Team All-State Honors!
SJ Dodgeball Game Draws a Crowd!
A huge thanks to everyone who attended our Dodgeball game on Friday, March 8! The winners were the previously undefeated Gram's Grandchildren!

Congratulations to our World Language National Honor Society Inductees!
On Thursday, March 7, St Joseph High School inducted 69 new members into the various World Language Honor Societies (2 into the Chinese NHS, 46 into the Spanish NHS, 9 into the French NHS, and 11 into the Italian NHS). Click here for a full list of inductees or view photos on our SmugMug page .

SJ Cadets - Donate Blood, Save a Life!
Student Blood Drive on Wednesday, March 20
St Joes' Student Blood Drive will be held on Wednesday, March 20 from 8am-1pm. All students interested in donating should visit the American Red Cross website  for information explaining the procedure. 

Students must be 17 years old to donate, and should bring a photo ID. If you'd like to participate, see your homeroom teacher to schedule an appointment!
Students, Parents & Friends: It's Time to Brave the Shave!
On March 29, immediately after our Spring Pep Rally, St Joes will host a Brave the Shave event to benefit the St Baldrick's Foundation! The St Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer and donor powered charity committed to supporting the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

All are welcome to participate and become shavees , though if you under the age of 18, you must have your parent fill out this permission form . If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr Pagliarella .
Varsity Football Celebrates at Championship Banquet!
It’s been almost 3 months since the SJ Football program won their second straight state title, but last week the Hogs gathered again to celebrate their dominating 70-18 win over Berlin at the team’s Class M Championship banquet!

The players and coaches, surrounded by family and friends, received their championship rings, recapped the season in a short video, and honored the many people who help made the season such a success. Sophomore Family Mass: Sunday, March 17!
The annual Sophomore Family Mass and Reception will be held on Sunday, March 17 at 9:30am in the gym. This is a special mass for the intentions of the Class of 2021 and their families.

To quote former faculty member, Vic Eng: "The sophomore family mass is a time for our students to reflect on the past two years and to pray for blessings on the next two years to come."

We hope to see all of our sophomore families there!

Food Pack Service Project - Help Feed The Hungry! 

The entire school will participate in our Meal Pack on Feast Day, helping to feed thousands of people. Each meal costs  50 ¢ - so every donation makes an incredible impact!

Please visit  sjcadets.org/mealpack  if you would like to help - or monetary donations can be dropped off at the Main Office marked "Feast Day Meal Pack".
Easter Basket Donations Requested!

While our underclassmen make beautiful lilies, our Juniors and Seniors will be creating and filling Easter Baskets to donate to the Missionaries of Charity in Bridgeport. 
 
We are asking for donations of the following items for our Easter Basket Service Project:
·   Easter Baskets, Cellophane, Small Easter Candy
·   New Small Toys, Books, Crayons, etc...

Our goal is to create 250 Baskets! Donations can be brought to the collection bins in school.
 
Monetary donations will also be accepted to help us purchase supplies. You may send a check to the Main Office marked "Feast Day Easter Baskets". We thank you for your support.

Hall of Fame is a celebration and recognition of those individuals and teams who performed with athletic distinction while at St Joes, or who have been instrumental in the overall development and success of athletics at the school.
