Pawtastic Rescues
and
Purrfect Adoptions!

2018 was a year full of surprising, awesome and amazing rescue stories and adoptions for Second Chance Pets!  The stories below are just a few of the many rescues that occurred this year! SCP provided love and care to countless abandoned animals many of whom were injured or had medical issues.

~~There was "Leaf", a cat who was abandoned at a local park and had been hanging out in a tree to avoid danger.  It didn't take him long to get adopted and he is now enjoying the good life "hanging" out with his new dad.

~~Who can forget  "Prince Charming""Mariah" and  "Diamond", just a few of the dogs that were rescued from shelters covered in mange?  All have found homes except for Mariah who was just recently cleared for adoption events, so be sure to come out and give her some love at adoption events!

~~We won't forget all the senior animals that were rescued as well, most of whom had medical issues:  "Jacoby"- a senior cat from a shelter that was pre-diabetic,  "Frankie"  - a senior cat in renal failure whose owner passed away and was surrendered to a shelter.  Both Jacoby and Frankie were adopted by wonderful families who know that true love comes in many different ages!

~~The unfortunate hilarity that ensued when some of our dog volunteers went out to rescue one scared dog from a park, which then unexpectedly multiplied into a pack of 4 dogs who were dumped at the park that our volunteers went chasing after and were finally able to capture.   "Tipps", "Mason", "Brother" and "Ziggy" have all found their forever homes and only take leashed trips to any parks from now on!

~~All the volunteers loved "Granite", a grey poodle mix who is blind and deaf and was rescued from a shelter at the ripe old age of about 13 years.  Granite recently found his forever home with someone who could see all the love he still had left to give!

TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 31ST, 2018!

You can donate via  Paypal through December 31 and gain not only the benefit of helping SCP continue its rescue mission for animals in need, but also the benefit of a tax-deduction for yourself!   You can also donate via our Facebook page blue donate button by clicking here (Facebook does not charge any processing fees!).

Want to make a donation in honor of or in memory of someone special or a beloved pet?  Click Here to Access the Donation Information Form to convey the details to us.

As always, we thank you for generous support!  While we wish our services were no longer needed, unfortunately that is not the case and without your support we would not be able to help animals like:

Xander , a 5 week old kitten rescued from the Galveston County Animal Resource Center, who required a leg amputation after being found with a string tied so tight to his leg that there was a lack of blood flow and the leg fell off when the string was untied; and

Nickel, a young dachshund mix rescued from the Pearland Animal Shelter, who was hit by a car and suffered a broken pelvis and multiple severe fractures that required leg amputation.
