OHS First Semester Tutoring Update
The transition between 1st and 2nd semester presents a mid-year opportunity to take stock in the OHS tutoring program.

Peer Tutoring : We have amazing students at OHS who advocate for themselves and are willing to help one another as learners. During first semester 44 peer tutoring partnerships hummed along and led to deeper understandings - both about course content and about the experiences that come from offering and from receiving support from a peer. Despite schedule changes, many students choose to continue their tutoring partnerships during 2nd semester.

Kindergarten-Grade 8 Tutoring: During first semester, 16 OHS students spent part of their school day supporting learners in schools throughout the OSD. In total, these kind, skillful, committed Panthers logged 812 hours as they encouraged younger learners to continue to grow as readers, writers, critical thinkers, and problem solvers - a winning combination!

Please direct inquiries to OHS Tutor Coordinator, Andrea Anderson at 835-1356 or amanderson@oregonsd.net .

Capstone Review Day
At the end of the first semester, students in the Senior Seminar course completed their Capstone Review. This celebration was a time for students to share their story including who they are, where they are going after high school, and their plan to get there. Students also celebrated their learning in the Oregon School District by showcasing several school related assignments or projects along with their reflection on the learning that took place. The reflections also shared how completing the project has impacted their growth as a learner. In addition, we are proud that all students shared and reflected on their 40+ hours of community service. On the Capstone Review Day, students presented their career portfolios to a community member and a staff member. The event was a great success! We're excited to continue to guide and support students as they navigate their post-secondary plans and the Capstone Review
day will again be held at the end of second semester.
