REC's wholesale power provider - Old Dominion Electric Cooperative - has announced a Power Cost Adjustment increase that is to take effect on Jan. 1. The change will add about $2.60 for a member who uses 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each month. While this still represents an increase, the change to the PCA is actually lower than the projection we previously shared.
The Power Cost Adjustment, is a pass-through cost for all members. It rises and falls based on the cost to generate and transmit electricity.
