BEST OF OCTOBER
LA Market Week
October was a busy month in the Fashion District as we welcomed thousands of buyers for the Spring 2019 Market Week October 8th-10th. Designers and brands debuted their collections for the upcoming Spring season at the showroom buildings on 9th and Los Angeles Streets. Additionally, multiple trade shows showcased temporary collections (designers that do not have permanent showrooms in the Fashion District).

The market is hosted five times a year in the district's  contemporary showrooms , and features hundreds of brands and designer collections.
The next LA Market Week will take place January 14-16, 2019.

"SHARP."
October 13th marked the final day of the "SHARP." a Solo Exhibition by Charlie Edmiston at the Avenue des Arts. With the end of the exhibition came Charlie Edmiston's contribution to the infamous Werdin Alley (located between Los Angeles & Main St. on 8th St.) of a mural inspired by "SHARP." See more.
Phase One Complete
Local leaders, residents, pedestrians, and cycling advocates joined Councilman Huizar in celebrating the completion of phase one of the Main and Spring Forward project on October 11th. The project moved bike lanes to the east side of Spring St. and added protective barriers and better signaling at crosswalks. LADOT began work on Spring St. in January 2018. Main St. work is expected to be complete by Fall 2019.
