Summer is here!
The busy season is upon us, with folks from near and far eager to experience all that summertime Sonoma County has to offer.

From camping to golf, fishing, hiking, hot air ballooning, art fairs, music festivals, and much, much more, Sonoma County is a happening place in the summer, with so much to see and do.

Our calendar lists hundreds of events in the next two months, so it's important to guide visitors to the things that interest them the most. A few calendar highlights are below, and you can view the complete list at sonomacounty.com/sonoma-events

If any of your guests are planning to visit the coast, be sure to let them know to expect delays (especially on weekends) on Highway 1 about midway between Bodega Bay and Jenner. Continued erosion damage means the road now narrows to just one lane in two spots -- near Gleason Beach and just south of Bay Hill Road -- with n orth- and southbound traffic taking turns in the remaining lane.

Tight curves make it impossible to use traffic control lights in the area, so Caltrans employees known as Flaggers will be directing traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week until repairs are made, which is expected to take a few months. However, Highway 1 remains open and with a little patience visitors can still enjoy Sonoma County's stunning coastline.

As always, many thanks for all you do to help our visitors experience the magic and wonder of Sonoma County. This truly is a place where "Life Opens Up!"

Cheers,
Tina Luster
