Parents and Families of the Mentor Schools,
Are you looking for a way to limit your kids' screen time and at the same time use their device to listen and learn? If so, you as the parent might find some of these podcasts engaging. Podcasts can also be downloaded so that you can take them on the road with you. Check out some of these podcasts.

Technology Used to Support Learning
This section of our monthly newsletter will be used to highlight the various programs our students can access to support learning. Last month we discussed programs that support literacy . This month, we focus on our Learning Management Systems (LMS) . We use our LMS's to support the daily learning in all of our classrooms and to allow our parents easy access to support their children. We have chosen the three LMS's below to provide a varied experience for our students as they move through the grade levels. Please remember that all of these programs can be easily accessed through Clever .

In grades K-2, our teachers and students use SeeSaw as a way to create, reflect, share and collaborate. Teachers can share links, videos and other learning information while students can post to show what they know (with their teachers AND parents)!

In grades 3-5, Google Classroom gives our teachers and students a paperless way to distribute, work on and grade assignments. Students can use their assigned Chromebook to complete assignments and easily share back this information with their teacher!
Similar to Google Classroom, Schoology is a platform that easily allows our students and teachers to communicate, create and manage classroom content. We us Schoology in grades 5-12. Schoology includes advanced features such as assessments, discussion forums and linking to Google Drive.
