Making SHENANDOAH SHINE !!
Got a green thumb? Got a good eye for design? Do bold colors make you
weak-kneed? Whatever the case, we are asking everybody to get their creative juices flowing as the City of Shenandoah and the Shenandoah Civic Club go into the second year of their beautification campaign called   Shenandoah Shine !
We have not formally introduced the City’s new volunteer renovation program called Shenandoah Shine , open to all Shenandoah residents and entering its second year! You may have seen the signs, and we’d love for you to participate.

The Shenandoah Shine program consists of two campaigns: Spring (Mar. 1- May 31) and Summer (June 1 - Aug. 31). This gives our residents two opportunities to join in the fun!  Residents who participate must take a before picture of the area they will be improving and an after picture when they are finished. Submit one before and one after picture to shine@shenandoahtx.us before the deadline to be eligible to win! The Civic Club will then vote to determine the “most improved” home project submitted for that campaign. That’s it! Simple and fun!

For the Spring Campaign this year, the contest is called “Operation Spruce it Up!”   Between March 1 and May 31, residents pick an area of their garden, visible from the street, that they want to spruce up. The idea is to replace dead plants and shrubs from this winter’s weather, adding mulch and whatever special touches you’d like to make your garden shine! Take a before picture. When finished sprucing up (or by May 31), take an after picture and submit both before and after pictures for judging. Entries must be submitted before the end of the day, May 31, to shine@shenandoahtx.us for judging. The best spruced up garden will win a $100.00 gift card from the Home Depot.

So join the fun, and help continue to make Shenandoah Shine ! Details will be posted on the city website.
