Jean Emily Clifford Peterson 1925 - 2018

Jean Emily Peterson (nee Clifford) of Wadsworth. passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, at the age of 93. Jean was born in Wadsworth on July 17, 1925, to the late Glee and Elene Clifford.

Jean graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1943 and married Arnold "Pete" Peterson, also of Wadsworth, in 1948. Devoted wife and mother, Jean accompanied Pete to Indonesia in 1958 with three of their children to spend the next six years there at a Goodyear plantation. Adding two more children while in Indonesia, Jean single-handedly returned to Wadsworth with the five children in tow a few months ahead of Pete and had their sixth child later that year in 1965.

Jean and Pete lived actively in Wadsworth raising their six children. Avid antique collectors, Jean is known for her decorating style, support for the local tennis events at Durling Park and for her joyful presence at Bridge Club.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Peterson; brothers Don and Glen Clifford; and her sister Corinne. She is survived by their six children: Eric (Holly) Peterson of FL; Jane (Bill) Allan of GA; Matt (Kay) Peterson of GA; Tod (Mandy) Peterson of Wadsworth; Jill (Terry) Young of Wadsworth; Dean (Lori) Peterson of WI; as well as 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services celebrating Jean will be held 1 pm Saturday October 20th at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth. The family will receive friends one-hour prior, from 12-1pm.
