Legislative Session Less than Three Weeks Away
The legislative session is set to begin less than three weeks from now on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019. The first week of a new General Assembly is typically busy with the new members getting settled and the governor giving her condition of the state address, as well as the chief justice giving the state of the judiciary address. This year, the first week will also include the inauguration on Friday, Jan. 18 for Gov. Reynolds. Read more .

Workforce, Competitive Business Climate, Regulatory Reform Top ABI Priorities for 2019
ABI’s public policy team has been meeting with members of the 88th General Assembly, the governor’s office, caucus staff and other lobbyists to discuss our top priorities as the legislative session nears. Representatives from more than 100 ABI member companies came together throughout the month of August and provided input to help determine the issues ABI will prioritize going into 2019. Read more .

IIPAC Short of 2017 Investments
With just a few days left in the 2018 calendar year, we hope you will consider a small contribution to IIPAC. Although it was a record legislative session for ABI and a successful election, IIPAC contributions are below 2017 contributions. We just need $2,000 to surpass last year’s contributions. DNR to Host Fee Advisory Meeting
The DNR will hold a fee advisory meeting on Jan. 29 to review with stakeholders the air quality budget for the 2020 fiscal year. The meetings will be held at the Wallace Building, 502 E. 9th St. in Des Moines, on the second floor. This can't-miss event is Wednesday, Jan. 16, 6:45 p.m. (immediately following the Legislative Briefing and Reception), at the Hilton Downtown Des Moines. R&R Realty Group Opens New Corporate Headquarters
R&R Realty Group (R&R) announced today its move to new headquarters at  the 180,000 square foot Westfield Campus in West Des Moines. The move culminates nearly three years of research and planning undertaken by R&R’s leadership, along with in-house design and technology teams. Together, they focused on how the next generation of office spaces can help employers recruit and retain top talent in an environment with historically low unemployment levels.
