Hello, Trident Academy Family. Here is your news!
Weekly Updates
Head of School
NOVEMBER??!!

During the month of November we will be thinking and talking about how thankful we are for so many things. We've asked our students and faculty to reflect on why they are thankful for Trident Academy. We will be posting these thoughts each day on our Facebook page. Be sure to check them out and to like our page!!

In that vein I'd like to tell you why I am thankful for Trident Academy. First and foremost Trident Academy saved my daughter's educational life! She was in second grade at a public school in Mt. Pleasant being "taught" to read using "whole language". Her teacher assured me that she was doing fine and not to worry. However, towards the end of the year, the teacher had a new story: I think we should hold her back. We had her tested and she was diagnosed with disabilities in reading, writing and 'rithmatic, the "3 R's". She attended Trident Academy and learned strategies to use to help her in all three realms. She continues to use those strategies today as the mother of 2 dyslexic children. Which brings me to the second reason I am thankful for Trident Academy. Both of my grandchildren are thriving under the watchful eyes of our fabulous faculty. I am grateful for our consistent, caring and professional teachers who make the difference for all of our students.

We are blessed to have such a wonderful place for our children (and grands!).

Have a wonderful weekend!

Betsy

LEAD
Connor working hard to learn the ff, ll, ss, zz "spelling generalization" during LEAD
This LEAD "centers activity" went so well! Wyatt and Julian worked to find the words for each end blend, name the rhyming words, and sort each short vowel rhyming word end blend in alphabetic order! I'm so proud of their focus on thinking through 4 phonemic awareness skills along with reading and sorting!
