MEM Concludes Second Iteration of Product Management Course with Professor Birju Shah
Eleven student teams built exciting products - from a cocktail maker to a financial assistant app to a chat bot to booking one's dream Instagram vacation
MEM recently concluded its second offering of MEM490: Product Management. Product Management is an action-oriented course that helps students learn the fundamentals of Product Management by creating products that the customers need. Working mostly in teams of three to six, students were expected to apply concepts learnt in class on a product of their choice.

Over the course of the Fall 2018 quarter, students went through the intense exercise of applying widely accepted industry practices to get from the ideation phase to getting ready to build.  Throughout the course, students got the opportunity to interact with accomplished Product Managers, Design leaders and Strategy Executives from leading digital tech companies, such as Uber and Climate Corp. Here's what students who took the course had to say:

"I really like how the class starts with 1-minute pitches to recruit people or join other teams; it was so good to build teams compared to other class team building activities."

"The class is structured logically so the content builds up on one another and leads you to milestones."

"Critique is always spot on and constructive which helps to push oneself and head into a good direction."
