FEATURED EVENT: 6th Annual RoboExpo
Glencoe's Team Shockwave hosted its 6th Annual RoboExpo on Monday, March 4. The event brought together and celebrated robotics teams from across the District, but the main event was the unveiling of Shockwave's 2019 competition robot by team captains Brittan Crays, Shawn Grewal and Anna Meneely. In the last seven years, Team Shockwave has designed and built 23 robots, competed in 33 events, and earned a total of 53 awards. Last year, students averaged 270 meeting hours and mentors averaged 600 volunteer hours each, totaling more than 12,000 volunteer hours! The team's hard work paid off, as the team qualified for and competed in the Houston World Championships, where Shockwave finished in fifth place among 3600 teams. Congratulations Shockwave and best of luck to all of our robotics teams this competition season. Click here to see more pictures from RoboExpo.

Census 2020
Every ten years, per the U.S. Constitution, a population count - or census - is taken. The census asks questions that provide a snapshot of the nation. Results determine the number of seats each state has in Congress and guides how more than $675 billion in federal funding is distributed to states and communities. Local community members, especially those who speak languages other than English, are asked to join the Census team to help people complete the census.
