This week we're presenting Three Stones Gallery, Attleboro Arts Museum, and The Franklin Gallery, featuring dozens of artists showcasing their talent in a variety of media. There are also other interesting and exciting events happening soon for those who want more.

"Beyond the Pedestal: Isamu Noguchi and the Borders of Sculpture," is on view at Portland Museum of Art through January 6, 2019. This exhibition, sponsored by Artscope, explores the bold and challenging sculptures of Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Noguchi. Be sure to give it a look!

Artscope is also sponsoring "Corncobs to Cosmonauts: Redefining the Holidays in the Soviet Era" at the Museum of Russian Icons. This exhibition displays over 150 Soviet-era ornaments, books, toys, and more. Check it out!

Fuller Craft Museum is holding a reception at Room & Board in anticipation of CraftBoston Holiday Show's "Preview + Benefit: Stir It Up!" from 4:00 p.m.⎻6:00 p.m.

A Visual Feast and Various Artists at Three Stones Gallery

Three Stones Gallery located in West Concord and Rockport, MA has several group exhibitions on view now. Currently showing in the Concord location through January 12, 2019 is Gallery Azure: A Visual Feast. The exhibition offers a broad array of guest artists. As described on the gallery website "Whether diffuse, dreamy or geometric, this collection is, indeed, a visual feast." Many of the featured handmade items make perfect small gifts for the winter season. In the Gallery Beryl you will find an exhibition featuring paintings, photographs and ceramics by its member artists. Three Stones Gallery Rockport is showing a selection of work from member artists on view until it closes for the season on December 22. The featured works include waterscapes and landscapes in oil, abstract landscapes, mixed media, oil and acrylic, driftwood fish and a selection of ceramics. Three Stones Gallery is owned by Jennifer Montgomery Johnston. In 2019 Bennington Museum looks back to late 1960s with exhibitions, celebrations and events. This year's festival exhibition and closed-bid auction looks at the lasting impact of the art and spirit of the 60s on artists today, and serves as a prelude to next summer's major exhibition Fields of Change: 1960s Vermont.

Thirty-eight contemporary artists present their work in this auction with the proceeds being split 50% going to the artist and 50% going to the museum.

Lead Artist⎻Community Arts Initiative Artist Project (2019⎻2020)
MFA Boston

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston serves a wide variety of people⎻from school children to adults⎻through direct encounters with works of art. In addition to housing renowned collections, the Museum also offers numerous exhibitions and opportunities for learning and community engagement.

The Artist Project is a collaboration between the MFA and ten after-school community organizations in the Boston area. Each year a new experienced artist with a passion for community arts is selected to plan and lead a project with children between the ages of six and twelve. The Lead Artist guides the children and helps them create a collaborative work of art inspired by the Museum's encyclopedic collection. The completed project is exhibited in the Edward H. Linde Gallery in the Linde Family Wing for Contemporary Art at the MFA. A stipend of $22,000 and a materials budget is provided to the selected artist. Attleboro Arts Museum is currently showing its 2018 Members' Exhibition through February 1, 2019. The exhibition is juried by Christine O'Donnell, the Owner and Gallery Manager of the Beacon Gallery. Members' Exhibition 2018 is meant to offer every member artist the opportunity to exhibit their works. This year's juried exhibition features 372 works from 194 artists. Several artists received awards for their work, including Lissa Banks, whose painting, Yearn, was awarded Best Representational. Attleboro Arts Museum offers art to audiences of all ages and backgrounds, and provides opportunities for both new and established artists. The museum's tagline, "Arts for Everyone," represents the belief that everyone can enjoy and create art. Starting today, The Franklin Gallery at Riverstones Custom Framing is showing Shadows and Light through January 2019. Shadows and Light, coordinated by Peter Abate and featuring the work of 34 artists, is a traveling show that has been to a variety of venues throughout 2018 and will continue traveling into 2019. As suggested by the title, Shadows and Light is about the interplay and interpretation of shadow and light in art. The pieces in Shadows and Light explore the technical aspects of light and shadow as well as the symbolic and metaphorical ways these elements are expressed.
