  • Schedule a CAP conference appointment! 
    You can now schedule a CAP conference appointment using the link below. Parent/guardian participation at these conferences is a vital part of the CAP process. Make sure to sign up for your appointment by March 26.

  • The Woodland Science Fair Open House will be Tues., March 12 from 4-6 p.m. Parents are invited to attend, but are not required to do so. Projects/boards will be on display.
  • Tryouts for Woodland 7th & 8th grade boys basketball will be held at the FHS Gym March 12 & 14. 7th grade tryouts will be from 5-6:30 p.m., and 8th grade tryouts will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. All participants will need a t-shirt with their name on the back and a copy of a current physical. You can sign up online or at the door.
  • Tryouts for Woodland 7th & 8th grade girls basketball will be held at the FHS Gym from 6-8 p.m. on March 13. Pre-registration starts at 5:30 p.m. Sign up at the door. Students must have an updated physical and be dressed for workout.
  • Congratulations to the Woodland MathCounts Team for taking 5th place at the State Competition last Saturday in Little Rock!
  • Fayetteville Youth Baseball registration is open for the upcoming baseball season. Players can register or find more information online at FYBaseball.com.
  • Do you have a current 7th grader who is willing to serve their school and considers themselves a leader? Would they like to be a part of a leadership team made up of students who want to take on projects to serve Woodland and have their voices heard? If so, they should consider applying for Blue Crew. Applications are available in the front office and due back no later than Tues., March 26. They will also need to submit two teacher recommendations. Details are on the application. Please note that students who are in AVID, Student Council, or Yearbook are not eligible to apply.
  • FPS is sponsoring a Maker Contest for the Joe Martin Stage Race. Students in grades 5-8 can design and/or create bicycle accessories, and all applicants may access the NWA FabLab for FREE each Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:00 p.m. to work on their entries. Applications are due March 15, and entries are due by 5:00 p.m., April 1. Visit https://bit.ly/beaFPSmaker for more info and an application.
  • A special announcement from the Cowboy Cafe: Breakfast is an important part of the school day for good health and concentration, and we are proud to serve you healthy breakfasts each school day. Thank you to all the students who ate school breakfast last week for a chance to win a bike thanks to our partnership with General Mills. The winner of the National School Breakfast Week bike giveaway is Kennedy Howell!
  • Students going into 9th grade at FHS next school year: There are some deadlines approaching for application courses, auditions, and tryouts. Please visit the FHS website for more information. FHS Application/Audition/Tryout Info
  • Our annual Cowboy Celebration is fast approaching! It will be Fri., May 10, and we need all hands on deck. In order to pull off this huge day, PTO will need your help. Please email Kelly Edmiaston at [email protected] to see how you can help make the most memorable Cowboy Celebration to date!
Woodland Welcomes New NJHS Members

Congratulations to the seventh graders who will be inducted into the Woodland chapter of the National Junior Honor Society! We will welcome about 100 new members.

Students and parents are invited to an induction ceremony Wed., March 13 at 9:00 a.m. in the Woodland cafeteria. A reception with cake will follow the ceremony.
Congrats WJHS Robotics!

Congratulations to the Woodland Robotics Teams! At the State Championship, all three teams went to finals, and Team 6610T ended up as State Runner Up, beating out over 250 teams in the state. 



Next stop for Robotics is the US Open in April alongside Team 6610W. Then, Team 6610T will compete in the World Championship in May!
March Madness Door Decorating Contest
The AVID March Madness Door Decorating contest was a huge success in helping promote a college mindset for students! Each advisory class decorated their door with a college theme. Students researched their college to learn more about entry requirements, statistics, famous alumni, and more. Judges came from the FPS District Office. The winners are Ms. Dean's class, Ms. Still's class, and Ms. Vasquez's class! Winners received a party during advisory today.
2019-20 Sports Tryout Info

Below is a link for the 2019 FPS sports tryout dates and requirements for next school year's 2019-20 teams. Please note that ALL students participating in a tryout will need a current physical.

Feb. 7:    Pick-A-Time open to schedule conferences (closes at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27)

Current 7th Grade Parents: Tues., Jan. 29 your student brought home a Career Action Planning (CAP) information letter that explains the CAP process, the vital part parents/guardians play in the process, and how to schedule a CAP conference.

Free Tutoring Options

We have several free tutoring options available. Students can participate in free tutoring sessions Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and transportation home is provided if needed.

We also offer tutoring sessions Mondays and Thursdays 7:30-8:15 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.
As always, drinks and snacks will be provided at every session.
