The Home as a Faith-Filled Dwelling
Randy Nohl, Director of Synod Implementation for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee
The fourth Family Faith Formation session will build on our third session on prayer. Randy Nohl, the Director of Synod Implementation for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, will lead us in exploring practices to share faith in the home more effectively with our children. He will highlight ways in which our families can simply and practically pray in their own words at home different types of prayers.
Both adult and teen volunteers are needed . Please click here to find a shift that will work for you. Students can earn service hours. Please sign up by Thursday, October 25th.
Family Faith Formation Schedules

We welcome your suggestions for continued growth in making the Family Faith Formation sessions family-enriching ones. To this end, we have tweaked the schedule so that it will
  • Provide ten more minutes for catechesis with the children and youth
  • Eliminate the difficulty of parents and children finding each other for the family project after the catechesis
  • Provide a more natural transition to the family project.

We propose to achieve these ends by having the family project right after the meal, while each family is already together.

Advent Wreath
Advent Session on December 2 and 3
Nativity Play by Children and Youth
In the fifth Family Faith Formation session we will focus on the Advent season, which is the time at which we are called to prepare ourselves for the Lord's coming into the world. We will look at how Jesus himself comes into the world, what this says about how we are to live in the world, describe the significance of an advent wreath and together prepare these wreaths for each family to take home with them, and watch the children and youth participate in a Nativity play. Please click here for more information on the Nativity Play.
Please click on the link below to sign up your children for a part in the play that they would like to have. We ask that the children and youth participate, if even in a non-speaking role, so as to help them learn through involvement.
"Tell me and I will forget.
Show me and I will remember.
Involve me and I will understand.
Step back and I will act."
The older children will participate through doing readings and singing carols.
Please click here to sign up to participate in the Nativity Play. We are also looking for some Parent Volunteers to assist with the children at rehearsals and during the performances.
Family Faith Formation Session on January 6th and 7th
Our session on January 6 th and 7 th will be devoted to learning about Christian service by doing it. Research has shown that one factor in helping a child or youth come to a mature faith that they embrace is their experience of participating with their families in service to others.
Parents, children and youth will be together the whole time to make fleece blankets, hats, and scarves to help the homeless and others in need in the winter. Please bring your scissors for cutting fabric.
