Sierra Leone Cheers on the Birds in Superbowl LII

The Philadelphia Eagles may have been the winners of Superbowl LII, but the real MVPs of the game were the fans showing their support all the way from Sierra Leone.

We may be biased, but this may be the best version of the Eagles' Fight Song we've ever seen.  Follow the link to see for yourself!

Western Area Health Facilities Reaching Target Population

Sierra Leone has some of the highest infant and maternal rates in the world. Reaching this vulnerable population is critical to improving health outcomes among women and children.

Our 2017 data shows that at the four facilities we support - Christ the King, Monsignor Daniel Sullivan, Stella Maris, and St. Anthony's - 61% of new and follow-up patient visits were fe male and 57% were children under five years of age.

In particular, contracting malaria during pregnancy is a great risk to both mom and baby.  Facilities provide mosquito nets and administration of intermittent prevention treatment (IPT) during pregnancy to help reduce this risk. Last year, nearly 2,000 nets were distributed and over 1,000 women received at least two IPT treatments at the clinics. In addition, over 1,000 infants were fully immunized and protected from diseases such as, malaria, diarrhea, yellow fever and pneumonia.
R emembering Monsignor Dan Sullivan

We honor and celebrate the life of late Monsignor Dan Sullivan on February 27th, 2018, the 5th anniversary of his passing.  Monsignor Dan was an incredible and godly man, dedicating his life to the church and to the poor in Sierra Leone.

Over the 7 years spent as Executive Director of the Healey International Relief Foundation, he implemented numerous projects and relationships that still stand today.  Monsignor Dan will always be remembered for instilling inspiration and ambition into the culture of this organization and to the people of Sierra Leone.
