CTA ADDISON STATION ALERT
Please read the notices below for the construction work that begins tonight March 8 at the CTA Addison Red Line Station, and continues through Monday, April 1, 2019.
 
Impacts to Addison station and CTA Red and Purple Line service:

· Red and Purple Line service will continue throughout the work period with occasional delays to service

· Shuttle bus service will be in place at Addison the weekends of March 8-10 (late Friday night through late Sunday night) and March 30-April 1 (midday Saturday thru early Monday morning) because there will be no trains stopping at Addison during these weekend periods

· For three weeks (late Sunday, March 10 - midday Saturday, March 30): Addison station will remain open for southbound Red Line service only, but there will be no northbound service at Addison. People riding northbound trains to Addison, or who board northbound trains at Addison, will need to:

→ Use the Sheridan or Belmont stations to board northbound trains

→ Board a southbound train at Addison, alight at Belmont and cross over to the other platform to board a northbound Red Line train

→ Note: As Sheridan station is not accessible, customers who require an accessible station will have to use Belmont or Wilson stations to enter, exit or transfer

Impacts to the community:

· Work is required to be performed 24/7, including noise from vehicles, tools, horns, material handling and railroad personnel communications

· Increased contractor personnel at and below the CTA structure between Waveland and Newport

· Barricades installed at various locations for resident and contractor safety

· Intermittent street closures and alleys may be partially obstructed

· Curb lanes to be temporarily occupied with contractor equipment as the work progresses

· Occasional sidewalk detours
