 March Madness!

Welcome back! We hope that February Break was full of fun, family and friends. Mother Nature delayed our reunion on Monday following the storm, but when we did finally assemble, w e were so happy to see everyone.
Our Staff has been hard at work this week finalizing the Winter Progress Reports, which will be sent out by email today. Please be sure to take some time over the next days to review your child's report.  As we have noted previously, the MFCS Progress Reports for our Upper and Lower Elementary Students are based on the three-year Montessori cycle. So as you view your child's progression since the Fall Report, you will also see the progress being made within the 3-year cycle of your child's Program Level. Since our Kinder is a single-year program, their reports are designed to only reflect their Kinder year.

For those of you who have signed up for a Parent / Teacher Conference  next Thursday , please bring the reports with you. All MFCS Parents/Guardians are reminded to direct any questions or wonderings about your child's progress to your child's Lead Teacher.

Tomorrow marks Mill Falls' 8th anniversary of our original Charter School Approval! On March 9th, 2011, the group of founders went before the NH Department of Education for final approval of our charter - a 5-year contractual agreement with the state of NH. This allowed us to officially establish our school, NH's First public Montessori. Since then, we have been re-approved by that same governing body to continue our program. It has been a long road, and today we stand together as a strong, proud and growing community, committed to our mission and embraced by friends and family, near and far. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in helping us reach this important milestone.

This week we kicked off the 2019 Calendar Raffle!

Coordinator Lisa Z. and her team packed up 10 calendars for each student, and those packets were sent home with the children on Monday.

As you know, NH Charter Schools are funded at less than 40% of traditional public schools. That's why Mill Falls families come together to creatively fundraise to help us strengthen our kids' education by helping to fill in some of our charter school's funding gap.

Raffle Calendars can be purchased from each MFCS Family, or you can direct your friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers, doctors, lawyers, and so on to visit:
or scan this QR Code ---->>>>>>>>>
to make their purchases.

It takes a village to make this annual all-schoolfundraiser a success, and we ask each family to participate. There are some FABULOUS prizes on this year's calendar, which should help all of us sell them! Thank you for your efforts!

  Water Testing Completed

On February 8, 2018, New Hampshire adopted Senate Bill 247 Prevention of Childhood Lead Poisoning from Paint and Water. This law requires, among other actions, that all schools and licensed childcare facilities test lead in drinking water at all locations where water is available for consumption by children. The first round of testing is required to be completed by July 1, 2019, and every 5 years thereafter, until at least 3 rounds are found to be below the standard, and safe for consumption and use.

In early January, we completed the required testing here at  Mill  Falls, and our water was found to be safe! As per the law, we are required to share the letter documenting the tests with our school community. We worked with Engineer,  Ian Gaudreau, at  GZA which is a firm located in Bedford, NH, and thank him and his team for their work which has been filed with the state of NH, as per the requirements.  Please click here to review their letter.
