Attendance
For those students that dismiss during the school day for any medical appointment, it is extremely important that the students return with a medical note (whether they return the same day or the following day). We have had several students not follow up with this. Ms. Lafferty makes students aware every time they dismiss that a follow-up medical note is needed. If they forget, the doctor's office can fax Trinity the note at (717) 761-7309. Thank you for your help with this matter!

Michael Staiger '20 (Immaculata House) and Megan Gouldy '20 (Loyola House) have earned recognition The Cumberland County Woodrow Wilson Birthday Association for their essays. At the Association luncheon on December 9, Michael was awarded second place, and Megan received an honorable mention. Spiritual Reflections
Gospel for Sunday, December 23, 2018--4th Sunday of Advent
Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled." --Luke 1:39-45

Reflection
“Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.” Mary believed the word of God spoken to her by the angel and immediately went out to serve her cousin, Elizabeth. Do we believe the word that is spoken to us? Are we praying to hear the word spoken to us? As we prepare in these final hours for Christmas, let us pray more deeply that we may hear God’s word in our own lives and respond with love for Him and our neighbor.
Saint of the Week--Saint Stephen, December 26

If it weren’t for Saint Luke telling us about the selection and martyrdom of Saint Stephen in Acts of the Apostles, we would know nothing about him at all. The little we do know, however, speaks volumes about what kind of man he was and his love for Jesus and the early Church community.

For more information on the Saints, visit Franciscan Media’s Saint of the Day .
Prayer for Christmas
(Attributed to St. Bernard of Clairvaux)

Let your goodness, Lord, appear to us, that we, made in your image, may conform ourselves to it. In our own strength we cannot image your majesty, power, and wonder; nor is it fitting for us to try. But your mercy reaches from the heavens, through the clouds, to the earth below. You have come to us as a small child, but you have brought us the greatest of all gifts, the gift of your eternal love. Caress us with your tiny hands, embrace us with your tiny arms, and pierce our hearts with your soft, sweet cries.
