June is National Adopt a Cat Month

June is National Adopt a Cat Month, and for good reason! We've seen a tremendous spike in feline intakes this month, mainly because we're in the thick of kitten season. And while we were prepared for an increase in kittens, it can still be daunting as we're often getting boxes of kittens brought to us on a weekly basis.

However, thanks to our foster program and dedicated staff members we have been able to find temporary homes for the kittens that find their way to us. Many litters of kittens require around the clock bottle feeding and we sincerely appreciate our foster families that have risen to the occasion.

As the litters of kittens like Khalon pictured below, grow old enough to be adopted they return to our shelter and it's then time for us to find them new homes. To help find homes for all these extra felines, we initiated an adoption promotion called, "Free Kitten Fridays." For the entire month of June, all kittens five months and under have their adoption fees waived!

We've seen such a success with this promotion so far, as it has increased the amount of potential adopters walking through our doors and the amount of cats and kittens walking out our doors with new families. We even had two consecutive weeks with 40 plus adoptions each.

If you would like to join our group of amazing foster families, please stop in and ask for a foster application or visit our website for more information.
As always, feel free to give us a call at
608-781-4014 with any questions.

Sincerely,
Taylor Bates and kittens like Khalon

 Featured Pet: Todd

Todd is a 3 year old neutered male that came to us in April. He's a bit on the shy side and hides his true self from new people, which is why we think he's still here. Once you spend some time with him though, you'll find that he is a very sweet, cuddly guy that loves attention and belly rubs!

His meow sounds like baby bird chirps and coincidentally he loves to watch birds out the window. He can also be very playful and likes to play with his favorite "lamb chop" stuffed toy. Todd is a sweetheart that loves cuddling with other cats. He lives in one of our offices and tries to welcome new cats by snuggling with them to make them feel comfortable. We think he would do great in a home with another cat to help show him the ropes!

Todd would do best in a low key home without young children and energetic dogs. He would make the best couch buddy and cat sibling to current cats. If interested in Todd, please visit him any day after 1 p.m.

 Get Involved
There are several ways you can become more involved with our shelter. You can spend your free time socializing with the animals by becoming a volunteer , participate in and attend one of our many fundraisers or events , sponsor a kennel , become a foster parent or simply make a financial donation online. However you want to help, know that it is greatly appreciated and truly does impact the lives of the thousands of homeless animals that enter our shelter every year. We need your help to help them!
