Hello Heartspace friends,
Lauren Toolin's 340-Hour Advanced Yoga Teaching and In-Depth Studies Program kicks off with Tantra Shakti on March 15, 2019 and we have also included information about a very special summer training in June with visiting Master Teacher Indu Arora, as part of the Yoga Vidya Advanced Trainings.
Later this month and into April, we will have Kundalini workshops with Dev Inder Kaur, Restorative Yoga and Sound Healing with Cody and Victoria, and Sarah returns to offer Effiji Breath workshop. Victoria Rutledge's Gentle Yoga and Yoga Nidra series will get a springtime version in April. Read on!

This prenatal yoga series is designed to nurture the foundation of a life-long bond between mother and baby. Instruction will mindfully support the preparation of the mother’s body for birth, while providing essential skills for relaxation. The expectant mothers will learn breathing and relaxation techniques, exercises to support the back, postures to open the hips, methods to comfort the body during the journey of pregnancy and birth, while forging a community with other families.

Acroyoga is an invitation to connect with others through awareness, breath and movement. Connection created a safe and playful environment in which we can explore accessible and empowering acrobatic movement.
In workshop style classes, new skills are demonstrated and students are given opportunities to explore them at their own pace, with the support of the instructors and other students. Find yourself hovering above the ground, floating in a supported inversion and supporting others in flight. You can expect a yoga based warm-up, partner drills, games, and the introduction of acroyoga poses and transitions.

It is an avenue to access the inner playground and feel into the deepest, most soulful and dynamic fibers of our being. Come and experience a way to tangibly feel your energy, discover blocks and patterns that lie in the body, and all the inner workings that need attention. Breath helps us to release the negative symptoms, restore proper alignment, and find the proper flow for living the most full and purposeful life. No prior experience required.

Springtime Reboot: Gentle Yoga and Yoga Nidra, A Four-Week Series with Victoria Rutledge. Saturdays April 20- April 11, 2-3:30PM. Albany Studio.

Align with the seasonal shifts with gentle, intuitive movements and deep rest. Join Victoria as you ease your body and nervous system back into harmony. Asana (yoga postures) practice will prepare the body for Yoga Nidra as we travel from the awareness of the physical body to the awareness of the subtle energetic body.
This series is suitable for every level of yoga practitioner. From the very beginner who wants to dive into practice without the stress of rigorous movement, to the seasoned practitioner who wants to experience the benefits of a softer approach.
Each class with be an exploration of sensation, using compassion and self-inquiry as our guides. After 60 minutes of movement there will be half hour of Yoga Nidra which is a completely passive practice observed while laying down.
We will end the class with a balancing sound bath with pure quartz singing bowls to create further harmony in the body.

A Gong Bath is a sonic environment which uses resonant instruments like gongs and singing bowls to promote relaxation and meditation. If you have never been to a Gong Bath before they’re a unique sensory experience. You first hear the gongs vibing out, then you feel the vibration throughout your body. Pull up a mat and sit for a while and let the sound wash over you or enjoy movement during the session.

Heartspace's Yoga Book Club meets on Thursdays at 6pm in our cozy tea lounge at our Albany studio. Enjoy some tea and a great discussion on a broad range of books that cover the heart and philosophy of yoga. In October we will start with the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Bring a copy if you have or use one of ours. Make friends and connect with others who are curious and intrigued by this ancient practice. Everyone is welcome, as space allows. Facilitated by instructors Suzanne Martin and Martha Moscowitz.
