November 20, 2019
Dear OLMC Parents,

As we approach the feast of Thanksgiving, I would like to extend my gratitude particularly to David Koch, Tom Dooley, and the rest of the committee members who worked tirelessly to organize the Sapphire and Gold Gala on November 8. This event was a huge success, and I am thankful that the Gala raised thousands of dollars to purchase new gym curtains for the school. Now that sufficient funds have been procured, our brand-new curtains are expected to be installed this coming January. I attended the Gala that evening, and I am well aware that there were donors who bid money towards our gym curtains who do not even have children or grand-children who attend OLMC School. Needless to say, I was truly touched by the selflessness and spirit of generosity that motivated these kind people to donate to our school. Thank you, OLMC parish!

Back in September, I wrote to you regarding the challenges the school was facing in terms of our lunch program. After much reflection and analysis, the OLMC administration has determined that we will no longer be partnering with Aladdin Food Services. Last month, a few PTO mothers researched other lunch programs with whom we could possibly partner, and we have chosen to utilize a company called Campus Cuisine. This food service provider has been serving schools for over 20 years, and they work with nearby vendors that would deliver food to the school. We hope to work with Campus Cuisine starting some time next semester unless something unanticipated happens between now and then. We will keep you updated on new developments involving our new lunch program in future Messages from the Mount. The OLMC school administration also plans on hosting an informative meeting for our parents some time in December or early January, and we are committed to assisting you in making the transition to our new lunch program go as smoothly as possible.

In this Thanksgiving season, may our hearts swell with a spirit of gratitude so that we may all accurately see the immensity of blessings with which the Lord bestows upon us each and every day.

In the goodness of God,
Sister Maria Benedicta, O.P.
