The GSUSA National Council Session, where national business of our movement is conducted, National Board members are elected, and national governance proposals are considered, is coming up on October 23-25! The event will be held virtually, and our delegates have been preparing for months to represent our Council. Meet our council National Delegates:
  • Jessica Cafferty - Adult National Delegate, current Board chair and served previously in multiple Board positions and as a member of the Resources Development Committee and Board Development committee, which she chaired from 2019-2020.
  • Photina Haumschilt - Adult National Delegate, is a Lifetime Member of Girl Scouts and Gold Award recipient. She is the leader of a multi-level troop with Brownies through Seniors in Pocatello and the recruiter for Service Unit #610.
  • Tessa B. - Girl National Delegate, Tessa started Girl Scouts in kindergarten. She is currently a Cadette in Troop 713 in Idaho Falls.
  • Savannah W. - Girl National Delegate, Savannah is a Cadette in Troop 519 in Meridian Idaho and has been in Girl Scouts since Daisy level.

Hello Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council! This is Brynn Davis and McKinley Kirk. We are your Silver Sage Girl Board Members.  We serve on the Board of Directors and our job is to make sure girls in the Council have their voices heard! Both of us feel it is incredibly important for you girls to be able to contact us if you have concerns you would like us to address or questions you would like to ask. Upcoming Programs & Events

Join CEO, Pat Pyke, and others in a 1-hour, Town Hall style update on 2020 and what we look forward to as we wrap up the year. Additional details and agenda to follow. Submit your questions ahead of time, here

Ready to explore nature after dark? Take a fun night hike in the foothills with your family! Learn about nocturnal animals, discover fun things that glow in the dark and play interactive games. This is a family event and everyone is welcome! Activities are geared towards grade school aged students. Preregistration is required. New to Girl Scouts or not a Girl Scout yet? Come discover all the Girl Scout fun!

Join Girl Scouts and the USDA Forest Service in this fun workshop on Saturday, October 10th from 11 to 12:30! Here you will learn all about bees and other pollinators as well as native plants and how to identify them! Along with this, you will also be learning all about how to take care of plants with your own personal seed planting kit! The fee for this workshop includes any printed out pages needed for the program, the seed packet, and a fun patch for your vest! Zoom links will be sent out with registration.


Gold Award trainings are open to all girls, 9th grade and older, parents, and advisors, who are interested in learning more about this prestigious award. Requirements and policies will be reviewed, step by step, with plenty of time for questions. This workshop is mandatory for all girls who wish to propose a Gold Award Proposal Application. This training is held virtually and starts right at 6pm. A meeting link will be sent with a conformation email shortly before the event.


Join your fellow volunteers to discover more about virtual troop meetings! During this training you will learn how to set up your Zoom account, the basics of virtual meetings, and how to have an outstanding meeting while still offering the best Girl Scouting experience! Attend this virtual training from 6-7PM on October 14th.

Join Girl Scouts at Bella Mosaica Studio for an evening mosaic workshop! For the workshop fee girls will be provided with everything needed for their project including glass, glue, grout, and the wooden piece. Bring a friend who is not a registered Girl Scout to this workshop and you will get two registrations for the price of one! Not a Girl Scout yet? Register today to have a fun filled evening where you can learn more about Girl Scouts! This is a drop-off event. In recognition of CDC guidelines, symptom and temperature checks will be done when the girls are dropped off.


Love silly camp songs, creative skits and laughing with your family? Bring your lawn blankets and chairs an evening of skits, games and songs. Sing along with your favorite Girl Scout camp staff. This is a family event and everyone is welcome! Preregistration is encouraged. New to Girl Scouts or not a Girl Scout yet? Come discover all the Girl Scout fun!

Outdoor Career Exploration Patch
Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors! Are you interested in learning about different careers in the outdoors? Are you passionate about nature, the environment or STEM and are you wondering how to turn that into a job. Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington invite all girls to participate in their new “Outdoor Career Exploration” patch program. Once completed, patch can be purchased online through the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington council store.

National Park Service 19th Amendment Ranger Patch Program
The National Park Service 19th Amendment Ranger Patch program, which helps girls learn about the removal of the gender restriction to voting in 1920 and why civic participation is important, launched June 30 and is available to girls and troops through March 31, 2021.

Unlike the regular Ranger Patch program, this program can be done completely online, including in cases where local NPS parks/sites are closed to the public due to COVID-19.

Volunteer Resources and Updates
Many of our sisters at Girl Scouts of Louisiana Pines were affected by Hurricane Laura. Although Girl Scouts does not allow troops to fund raise for other causes, GSUSA has temporarily lifted the restriction to enable girls to raise money for Girl Scout recovery efforts at Girl Scouts of Louisiana Pines to the Gulf. Troops may also send Trefoil notes of encouragement to the girls is Louisiana. For more information visit HERE

Grey Cookie Dough Expires TODAY!
Gray Cookie Dough from 2018 is about to expire on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Cookie Dough spends like cash, so we must have Cookie Dough in hand by then. You can use Cookie Dough to pay for membership renewal, bring-a-friend events, merchandise from our Silver Sage retail store, and much more. 

To order from our online store, place desired items into a shopping cart and print it out. Then send us that list with the Cookie Dough, along with your mailing address and phone number. Gray Cookie Dough must be received by September 30, 2020. Girls work hard to earn their Cookie Dough, so don't let it go to waste!
Free Shipping Continues

Our online store has more items to offer than ever! Free shipping is offered for shipments within our council area throughout the month of June with no order minimum. Our store is open, so our staff will be in the office every weekday to process and ship orders. Shop here.
