March 2019

As the saying goes, March definitely came in like a lion this year! With these frigid temperatures, I'm sure the majority of us are ready and hopeful for it to go out like a lamb. But don't get too far ahead of yourselves - we have several things that we hope you'll turn your attention to and take advantage of before the month is over!

In addition to your local chapter programs, AIA Kentucky is offering a FREE webinar on video solutions for your practice.
We are also accepting registrants for a high-caliber Leadership Bootcamp and seeking presentations for our 2019 Ohio Valley Regional Convention on Building Wellness.

Check out the articles below for details on all of these exciting opportunities and, of course, don't forget to renew your AIA membership by March 31 so you won't miss out on any of them!

A/E/C Leadership Bootcamp

It's not just for Architects!
Because of the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from last year's Project Management Bootcamp, we are excited to bring PSMJ instructor, William Hinsley, back again on April 18-19 for a two-day A/E/C Leadership Bootcamp

This intensive two-day Bootcamp takes a deep dive into the difference between being a great project manager and being a great leader and gives you industry-specific, high-impact strategies based on decades of analyzing what the best A/E/C leaders have in common.

Registration includes a first-hand look at proprietary and powerful industry-specific leadership tools and access to a library of templates and resources to help you implement what you've learned immediately.

Don't miss out on this rare opportunity for world-class training right here in Kentucky. Visit our event site at aiaky.org/PSMJ2019 to learn more and register today!

The Last Word

I am very excited to be in Washington, D.C. today with representatives from all three of Kentucky's local components!  We are attending AIA's annual Grassroots Conference, where chapter leaders from all over the U.S. gather for extremely valuable training and conversations about what is happening in our profession across the Institute. In addition, we had the opportunity to spend a day on Capitol Hill advocating for issues like Energy Efficiency and School Safety.

Government affairs- at the state, local and federal level- is an extremely valuable member benefit and being able to speak with policy makers on behalf of our profession has been a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience.  We hope that you will follow along on social media for additional updates on what's happening at the conference this week and consider getting involved with some of the other issues that we are working on closer to home.   Architects are problem solvers and your voice is an extremely valuable asset!

In the meantime, we thank you for being a part of AIA Kentucky and appreciate the opportunity to advocate on your behalf.

Cheers!
