STATE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16



The High School White, Junior High Blue and Junior High Yellow teams will compete in the state tournament in Bloomington, IL. Players will be meeting at Cove Friday morning at 7:15 AM with a strict departure time of 7:30 AM. 

Players and parents/guardians are staying at the Double Tree by Hilton Bloomington. Please review the itinerary and team schedules above for a comprehensive guide to the weekend. Cove is excited to launch our first Special Olympics High School soccer team! Practices will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursdays with our first practice on Thursday, April 4. Elementary and junior high students arriving at Cove before 8:30 AM are invited to participate  in Early Morning Drop-In Meditation. STATE ASSESSMENTS GRADES 3-8 
Begins March 11

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (formerly PARCC) for students in grades 3-8 will be administered beginning March 11 at Cove.  It is a computer-based assessment and it will measure language arts and math.  For more information, please contact Dr. Robin Johnstone at  [email protected] .

Cove will be hosting a Spring Coffee and Presentation for families of prospective students. Registration will be at 9:15 AM and the program will begin at 9:30 AM. CAREER DAY

Cove students will be hearing from a wide array of professionals throughout  the day about the skills and experience needed for different career paths. STUDENT COUNCIL PET SUPPLIES DRIVE

CLASSES IN SESSION WITH EARLY DISMISSAL
Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22 

Due to weather-related school closings, these days, originally scheduled as non-attendance days due to parent/teacher conferences, will be in session schooldays for students and staff. Please note: Both Thursday and Friday will be early dismissal days, with all students being dismissed at 2:00 PM. More information on individually requested parent/teacher conferences the week of March 18 is forthcoming. 

CAAEL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The High School Blue and High School Yellow teams and a combination team of Junior High Blue and Junior High Yellow will play in the CAAEL Tournament in Arlington Heights from 9 AM to 4 PM. SAT, PSAT 10TH GRADE AND PSAT 8TH & 9TH GRADE
Tuesday, April 9 to Tuesday, April 23

Test administration will occur between April 9-23 at Cove. Juniors are receiving test prep lessons three times per week during Advisory in Reading, Writing and Math.  Freshmen and Sophomores will also have test prep lessons in their Advisory classes once per week.  All accommodations have been approved by College Board; For questions, contact Vivian Drexler at  [email protected] .

PRESENTATION ON ADHD DIAGNOSIS AND EVALUATIONS
MONDAY, MARCH 11

Dr. Lisa Novar, Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Illuminate Psychological Assessments, LLC, will be speaking at the Deerfield Library at 6:30 PM. She will speak about comprehensive evaluations in particular as a method of addressing other conditions children may have when they have been given an ADHD diagnosis. 

ELSA-PALOOZA

Join the Elmhurst Learning and Success Academy at this year's ELSA-PALOOZA from 10:00 AM to 1 PM in the Founders Lounge, Frick Center at Elmhurst College. TWENTY-ONE SENSES SURVEY 
One of our Cove families is gearing up to start a new resource for sensory-sensitive kids. They're currently in the market research stage and have offered to donate $1 to Cove for each survey filled out by our families at TwentyOneSenses.org/Cove. SPECIAL GIFTS THEATRE PROGRAMS 

Students are invited to participate in the programs put on by Special Gifts Theatre, an education and therapeutic theatre organization with locations in Winnetka, Chicago, Palatine and Libertyville for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities ranging in age from 10 years and older.
