Dear PetConnect Rescue Family,
March has come in like a lion, so it may not feel like it (brrr), but spring is just on the horizon. I love spring because it signals fresh starts and new beginnings. For PetConnect Rescue, nothing personifies that more than Muddy Paws Farm. Last month, we said goodbye and best wishes to our Muddy Paws Farm Coordinator, Courtney Bayer, as she left to be closer to family on the West Coast. This month, we are thrilled to welcome back our former Muddy Paws Farm Coordinator, Tammy Mathis, who took over the reins March 1st. Aiding her is one of our longtime Muddy Paws assistants, MA King. Welcome back!
As part of that process, we held a big spring clean, and special thanks go out to the many Muddy Paws volunteers who came out to help! Now the facility is in tip-top shape for Tammy, MA and a whole new crop of adoptable dogs. We hope to host some adoption events up there soon. Stay tuned!
March is also associated with luck, and we are incredibly lucky and grateful to have community partners like Lilly Pulitzer at Montgomery Mall. Last month they hosted our Puppy Love event, providing us another opportunity to spread awareness of our mission through interaction with some of our adorable adoptables. A big "thank you" to the ladies of Lilly Pulitzer!
While every month is associated with a special event or special meanings, the hard work and incredible dedication of our volunteers knows no season or special month. It is a 365-days-a-year commitment to rescuing at-risk dogs and cats to give them the second chance they deserve. And it shows! PetConnect Rescue has been working to rescue dogs and cats at a record-setting pace the past few months. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to read some of the harrowing and heroic stories of our rescues. It is an honor to do what we do and to have a hand in saving so many lives.

Chad says "thank you" for giving him a new start at life!
Did you miss Chad's story last month? Every now and then, a dog just steals our hearts and Chad was one such pup. Watch Chad's story to learn more about this heartwarming tale of second chances.
Our volunteers who met and then left Chad couldn't get this guy out of their minds. Upon their return from South Carolina, they
resolved to help raise the almost $3,000 needed for his surgery. And guess what? You helped meet the need. Thanks to so many of you, we were able to raise $2,800!
Update: Chad's rehab has been going well, and he'll be coming to the area on this week's transport. Even better, Chad will soon be up for adoption. Follow us on

No surprise, yoga with dogs is good for the soul!
Watch this short segment on the latest craze in yoga,
dog yoga. PetConnect Rescue is partnering with
Doggy Noses and Yoga Poses
(the group featured in this segment) this weekend for
our second
yoga with dogs event.
"I can't think of many things that would help more to bring us to our present moment and learn to calm your mind than a cute, little puppy snuggling up against you," says Shannon Roche,
acting CEO of Yoga Alliance.

Hello, everyone. I'm Jake, a one-year-old Great Pyrenees/American Bulldog mix. I'm pretty much a big lovebug. My foster keeps telling me that I'm not a lapdog but I don't understand what
the issue is. So what if I weigh 76 pounds?! I came into PetConnect Rescue with a skin condition so I looked a little ragged. With medical care and some TLC, my fur is growing in. I look and feel great. I love playing ball and chasing sticks and am super ready to find my forever family.

Meow, everyone.
My name is Aragon, and I've got
quite a story. I was found on the street and brought to a shelter down south, right before Hurricane Florence hit! Thankfully, PetConnect Rescue brought me out of danger and placed me into a wonderful foster home. I've got a great purr, I love to play, and I haven't met a person that I don't like.
