President's Update |
|
by Kevin Luey, Outgoing BACA President
Welcome and Thank You!
"Welcome!" to our new BACA members, and "Thank You!" to the current BACA members who continue to support and participate in BACA events. "Thank You!" also to the BACA Board, our ex-officio officers, Advisory and Honory Boards, and Phil and Sheryl, who have given generously of their help on legal matters.
Sad to Say Goodbye
It is with sadness I announced my intention to step down once a successor has been chosen. Growing work responsibilities simply don't allow me to continue. I remember fondly 12 years ago when Jinny Sagorin invited me onto the BACA Board. Now, after 12 years, it's also time for a change. The BACA Board is seeking candidates to fill both President and other Board positions. Those with the time and passion can take BACA to an exciting higher level that you all deserve. Can you help? We need you!
Thank you for supporting me and for the opportunity to serve you all.
See You at the All Membership Meeting
Looking forward to seeing you at
this special
meeting, Sunday, April 8 at 2:30pm at the Armory, 2nd floor!
With utmost respect,
Kevin

BACA Showcase Program
|
|
by Carole Bundy, Board, Treasurer
Each year BACA sponsors a series of performance showcases, giving BACA members the chance to perform before an audience while minimizing the setup of producing a show. Showcases are meant to be an opportunity to "up your game," to go the next step beyond an open mic, to polish your material, and present it in as professional a way as possible. We want to give the audience a great show!
It is also in the spirit of BACA that members come out to support the showcases. It is not only gratifying for performers to have their fellow singers in the audience; it is also fun and instructive for members to see their peers in a performance situation. And of course, it goes without saying that performers are expected to promote their shows to friends, family, and fans.
Following is a list of the showcases for 2018. Each evening features five singers, each with their own 20-minute set. March and June are filled, but if you wish to sign up for either October or December, please contact Carole Bundy at
carolebundy@gmail.com
.
