Hundreds of free activities on February 19! 
The Town of Oakville's popular Family Day celebration returns on Monday, February 19 with hundreds of free family-friendly activities and events for all ages and abilities to enjoy. The annual tradition promoting the benefits of active, healthy lifestyles is sponsored by Genworth Canada.

"Family Day is a great opportunity to spend quality time with the ones you love," said Mayor Rob Burton. "I encourage all Oakville residents to get together, get active and have fun by enjoying the wonderful recreation, arts and cultural events offered at town facilities."

Community Energy Plan in the works

The town is teaming up with Sheridan College to develop a Community Energy Plan that will set clear targets for reducing energy and greenhouse gas emissions.  The Plan will act as a guide to help the town, its residents, businesses and industry adopt new technology to reduce emissions, keep more energy dollars local and improve overall energy security and efficiency.
Museum offering digital collections

Oakville Museum is now offering online collections that allow visitors to explore and discover historical objects and photographs at any time of day, and from anywhere. The digital collections include furnishings, fine arts, tools, costumes and textiles, personal artifacts from the Oakville Museum  as well as historical photographs of the community from the town's Oakville-Trafalgar Archive.

Upcoming meetings at Town Hall include the Administrative Services Committee (ASC) and Community Services Committee (CSC) meetings on February 20 at 7 p.m. ASC agenda items include the Accessibility Advisory Committee's 2017 accomplishments and 2018 work plan.  CSC agenda   items include the Private Tree By-law and removal of trees under emergency work.
