Limmud New Orleans

Dear Shir Chadash Members

As you may know, I'm on the steering team of LimmudFest, a weekend long celebration of Jewish learning, culture, art and spirituality, and our own Aleeza Adelman is the co-chair. LimmudFest is a joyous celebration of all things Jewish and I would love to see as many of our community there as possible. We will be relocating our Shabbat services to Limmud for the whole weekend - Shabbat lunch is free whether you have signed up to Limmud or not, but I hope that you will.

LimmudFest takes place on March 16 - 18, 2018 and early bird registration closes this Sunday, February 18. All tickets are reduced so don't delay, register to join us today!

For more information about the presenters or their amazing sessions, visit limmudnola.org. And if you have any questions, just ask me and I will tell you my own Limmud story. Without Limmud, I would not be here...

Warmly
Rabbi Silver

Please note:  There will be no Shabbat Services at Shir Chadash for this weekend only at Gates of Prayer.

Now that Mardi Gras has ended, Shir Chadash will be collecting any stuffed animals you caught at the parades and would like to see put to a good use.

We are collecting stuffed animals for the Jefferson Parish Sheriffs department .  Please bring any unwanted stuffed animals to the synagogue and place into box located in the hallway.  Thank you.

Hear from two incredible survivors of World War II as they share their stories of bravery  commitment.

Wednesday, March 21
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center
945 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130

There are endless stories of courage that took place during World War II, with new narratives being shared with audiences every year. Hear two personal accounts from the extraordinary   women who experienced them, Anne Levy and Nicole Spangenberg, as they share their WWII   stories of bravery and commitment. Anne was a young girl in Poland hiding from the Axis with her family, and Nicole, a French teenager in the Resistance, risked her life to help her countrymen fight the Nazis. Both women survived - and the experiences shaped the rest of their lives. Hear their stories firsthand with  us.

Presented in partnership with the Junior League of New Orleans and the National Council of Jewish Women Greater New Orleans Section.
