Woohoo -  Summer!

Summer is here!  It's time for biking, hiking, paddling and nights around the campfire.  There are all sorts of ways to explore whether you want to paddle at your own pace down the waterways with Clyde River Recreation or zip over the river and through the woods via a guided ATV tour with NEK Adventures.  It's the perfect time of year to take a hike and there are trails galore in the area from the popular Mt. Pisgah trails to lesser known, but equally spectacular Bluff Mountain, Wheeler Mountain and many others.

Unpack & Unwind

Options abound when it comes to lodging in and around Burke.  Tuck yourself away in the woods, book a lakeside cabin, pitch a tent, live it up in a condo...the choice is yours!

Located next to the Burke Bike Park, Sno Bear Lodging offers beautiful 1-4 bedroom condos with everything you need for a home away from home.  The condos feature Vermont Castings gas fireplaces, full kitchens with granite countertops, washer/dryer, WiFi, multiple bedrooms and room for 2-15 people.

Just a stones throw from Burke, Hawk Rock Cabins in Newark are located on 2,600 private acres of woods and trails.  A perfect spot for a true country getaway in a log cabin.  Five cabins with 1-4 bedrooms are available and each is as comfortable as it is beautiful offering full kitchens and various amenities including private decks, laundry rooms and more.  Nightly and weekly rates are available.

For a lakeside stay, check out Mountain Lake Cottages, located right on Lake Willoughby.  Cottages offer room for up to 5 people with two bedrooms and full kitchens.  Enjoy a two night, midweek stay for two at just $350 that includes a 3 hour kayak/canoe excursion on the Clyde River.

Whether you want to camp out or enjoy an indoor stay, Burke Cottage Rentals and Campground offers both options at very affordable rates.  Located midway between Kingdom Trails and Lake Willoughby, it's the perfect spot to easily enjoy summer fun on land or water.  Camping sites are spacious and there's a bathhouse on site as well as picnic areas and fire pits.  Cottages sleep up to four people and include full kitchens.

Enjoy a peaceful retreat at GNS Properties, located just a mile from East Burke Village and offering 6 cabin rentals that sleep from 4-19 people.   For mountain bikers, there's secure bike storage and washing stations on site.  Amenities vary per cabin, but include laundry rooms, WiFi, outdoor showers (indoor ones, too), fire pits and more.

Deal of the Month

It's time to hit the fairways and with greens fees as low as $12, Barton Golf Club is the place to tee off.  Located just about a 20 minute drive from Burke, the par 71, 18 hole, family owned course is known for a casual atmosphere and beautiful views in all directions.  Visit after 3pm and pay just $12 for 9 holes or $15 for 18 holes.  Add the cart for just $7-$10 more.

You definitely don't want to miss NEMBAfest at Kingdom Trails June 28th - 30th.  It's the event of the summer in Burke!  Three whole days to celebrate mountain biking with camping, a huge vendor expo, bike demos, live music, kids activities, group rides and so much more!
