Cheers to sunny skies and warmer temperatures! ISN is ready to kick-off the field season. Our treatment crew starts in several weeks and will be spending the summer working with partners to target higher priority species. Next month also marks the start of garlic mustard and with it, our workbees in each county. Read on below or
visit our website to see how you can get involved in these volunteer efforts. Looking to pull on your own? Garlic mustard dumpsters will be placed in each county starting in early/mid May, depending on location. Thank you to our partnering host sites for going above and beyond by contributing financially for them as well.
Also on the calendar is the third-annual Japanese Barberry Trade-up Day. Like last year, we will have two locations - Grand Traverse County (the Boardman River Nature Center) on June 7 and Benzie County (Grow Benzie) on June 22. If you need a reminder on how this event works,
visit our website for more information and to register. (Hint: You bring us invasive barberry and in exchange, you get coupons toward a non-invasive alternative.)
