This Sunday at Christ Church
Faith & Practice
Become a Mentor for St. Leonard's/Grace House
This Sunday, Christopher will be joined by Erwin Mayer, Executive Director of St. Leonard's Ministries, and Carmen Wilcox, a Christ Church member. Carmen and five other women from Christ Church  developed a mentoring program for residents of Grace House, the female portion of St. Leonard's. Now, having worked with his program staff, Erwin will share the possibilities for men to do the same. This is an informational meeting which will lead to a more formal training process. Come and hear about how you and your mentee can be transformed by the grace of conversation and vulnerability.

Annual Kids Against Hunger
For the ninth year, the Rotary Club of Winnetka-Northfield, the Volunteer Center and the Winnetka Community House join with Kids Against Hunger to host a food packing event at which 100,000 highly nutritious meals will be packed for distribution to starving children in Nicaragua. Over 400 participants from all over the North Shore are expected to participate in the day-long food packing event. This is a terrific community activity. Work side by side with your neighbors who share your interest in helping. And it will take just two hours of your Saturday!

Your local neighbors, businesses, civic, service and faith based groups, are invited to register NOW to pack during one or more of three two-hour shifts, and pay a $25 participation fee to cover a portion of the cost of the food, packaging materials and transportation expenses. Table sponsorships may be available for youth groups for whom the participant fee may be a barrier.

Don't delay Reservations! Tables and Spaces are starting to fill up!
