We Are Going!
This Sunday, October 28
Spiritual Practices:
Prayer Beads
Family Ministry Workshop
During each month of the Family Ministry Program we will have at least one Sunday where there are no formal curriculum based classes. Instead, we will have a program, event, or service project in the Community Room at 9:15 am or 11:15 am where children, youth, and adults may participate together. We'll start out each program with getting to know each other.

Our first Family Ministry Program will be related to spiritual practices. We will learn some history about the use of prayer beads, and where in the world the use of prayer beads is common.  Then, we will have materials on hand so that each person can make their own prayer bead string for meditation, prayer, or other calming or focusing practices, along with meditative music.

We'll provide some snacks, and mats to sit on the floor, as well as chairs and tables.

No registration is necessary, just come and join us!

Upcoming Events!
Family Chapel!
First Sunday of the month
As part of ongoing effort to make faith formation a family affair, Family Ministry is trying something new this year: Starting November 4th, on the first Sunday of each month, parents, teachers, and anyone else who would like to, are invited to join the children in the Community room for Family Chapel.

This alternative start to Sunday worship, lead initially by Andrea Spencer-Linzie, will last about 15 minutes, after which parents will head up to the sanctuary to join the larger worship service and kids will begin their classes or other scheduled activities. Please note that on these mornings there will not be a "Story for All Ages" in the sanctuary.

Where: Community Room
Date: Nov. 4
Time: 9AM and 11AM
Spirit Play Teacher Training
Spirit Play, is the Montessori based approach to faith formation that we use for preschool through 5th grade aged children at the 9 o'clock service, and for preschool through 3rd grade at the 11 o'clock service.

If you are looking for a way to serve our congregation and deepen your connection, consider becoming a Spirit Play Storyteller or Doorkeeper!

Spirit Play teachers do not need to be parents of young children! Not sure you have what it takes? Come to the training, ask questions, and see if it would work for you!

RSVP here  by November 7.
Childcare and light breakfast provided.

Where: Barnum Room
Date: Nov. 11
Time: 10AM-11AM
Please contact me with any questions. I Look forward to seeing you soon!
