Some people give up something during Lent to remind them that Jesus gave up his life on the cross for the sins of the world. That is a good practice. This Lent, I encourage you to remember that Jesus called us all to "take up our cross" and follow Him. So, give something up if that helps you grow in your faith, but  also  "take up" a spiritual practice that will draw you closer to Jesus.  I challenge you to "take up" coming to worship - EVERY SUNDAY in Lent. Follow Jesus with your life, by making worshiping in community a first place priority.

We're starting a new sermon series for Lent that you won't want to miss.  When You Pray...  calls us to pray to grow in our relationship with Jesus. Do you struggle to pray? To listen to God? To know what to say? To know when/how God answers prayers?  Join us  for When You Pray...beginning this Sunday, and find some encouragement and direction for your praying.  We've been praying for you.   See you Sunday!

Blessings,
Pastor Anita

Henderson Settlement
All members of Denver United Methodist Church are invited to partner with our Henderson Settlement Mission Team as we seek to build meaningful relationships and improve the lives of our neighbors in Bell County, Kentucky. You may do so by purchasing a symbolic brick that will provide the funds necessary to purchase needed materials and supplies in support of this mission. No donation to purchase a brick is too small as the mission team wants everyone to have an opportunity to be an active participant in this mission. Come by the Ministry Table located to the left of the sanctuary after service for more information and to purchase a brick.
