A time to celebrate the ministry of Joan Watson
Congregational meeting and celebration Oct. 28
Joan Watson, our Minister for Congregational Life and Care, has announced plans to retire at the end of October following a 44-year career in ministry, including the last 15 years here at Covenant.
  • As required by the Book of Order, the Session has called a congregational meeting for 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary on Sunday, Oct. 28 for the purpose of voting on the dissolution of Joan's call to Covenant as Associate Pastor.
  • Following 11 a.m. worship on Oct. 28, we will gather at noon in the Fellowship Hall to celebrate Joan's ministry and to ask God's richest blessing upon her as she retires and moves closer to family in Texas. A memory book will be available at the door for guests to share messages.

  • You can contribute to a love offering at the event or online by clicking here. Please write "Joan Watson Love Offering" on the memo line of your check. Note: gifts are not tax-deductible.

Deep Dive: Do Presbyterians believe in ghosts?
Sunday at 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall
While the question might seem quirky, its answer will lead us into some rich - and interesting! - areas of Christian thought.

All of us can relate to the feeling of some unknown presence in the darkness. But what are we, as people of faith, supposed to make of this? Afterward, we will go to Dilworth Grille for social time hosted by Young Adults. Learn more here.

Construction will affect access to buildings from Morehead St.
Entrances to Sanctuary, Ed Wing are marked
During construction of the new building, access from Morehead Street will be limited to Sunday mornings only.  Access to the Sanctuary from Morehead Street will be reduced to the door nearest The Point and the Ed Wing entrance will move to the doors through the playground.

Signs will direct you along the sidewalk . As always, parallel parking is available on both sides of Morehead during Sunday services.  New to Covenant?  Learn about what we're doing.

Mosaic will fill as we move toward goal
Tiny images show Covenant community
A new piece of art stands in the Narthex -- a picture mosaic representing the percentage of campaign pledges received.

The image will be displayed around campus and updated as we make progress toward fulfilling our campaign commitments. You can give online through our secure giving portal. Click here.

'Huh? What did you say?' Learn about hearing loss
Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 11:30 a.m., FH203
While visual problems separate us from objects, hearing problems separate us from people. Dr. Hunter Hoover of Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates will discuss treatments for hearing loss. He'll talk about hissing in the ear called tinnitus.
  • A buffet lunch for $7 includes chicken salad wraps, fruit salad and potato chips. You can also bring your own lunch. RSVP here.
